Azealia Banks Inserted Herself Into The Saga Of Kanye West Commenting on Lizzo’s Weight

While Azealia Banks’ career title is “musician,” she’s most well-known for getting into feuds and/or her messy, outspoken commentary about the goings-on of other celebrities. Many would be hard-pressed to name a single one of her songs, but could probably list at least five people she’s shit-talked. Every once in a while, she does grace the populace with a shambles of a performance, but creating chaos truly seems to be her calling. And Even though Lizzo already seemed to respond to Kanye West’s impressively ignorant and uncalled-for comments about her weight during her Toronto concert, Azealia tagged herself in too. On today’s episode of “Azealia’s Drive-By Draggings,” she also took on Ye’s rant about Lizzo’s body.

By now, we’ve all heard about Kanye’s bewildering batshittery in his sit down on Tucker Carlson Tonight where he addressed topics ranging from his “White Lives Matter” shirts to his ex, Kim Kardashian’s sexy fashion choices. He also dragged an unsuspecting Lizzo into his circus. Via People:

“When Lizzo loses 10 pounds and announces it, the bots — that’s a term for like telemarketer callers on Instagram — they attack her for losing weight, because the media wants to put out a perception that being overweight is the new goal when it’s actually unhealthy,” he said.

“Let’s get aside the fact of whether it’s fashion and vogue, which is not. Or if someone thinks is attractive, to each his own,” West added. “It’s actually clinically unhealthy, and for people to, to promote that… it’s demonic.”

When Carlson, 53, asked why those body types are supposedly perpetuated, West responded: “It’s a genocide of the Black race. They want to kill us in any way they can.”

So, it’s hard to keep up with whose lives Kanye is really concerned about at this point, but trying to understand his thought process is probably not the best use of anyone’s time. Lizzo–fresh off of catching heat from people who’ve never heard of James Madison’s crystal flute before getting angry that she was allowed to play James Madison’s crystal flute–gave a dignified response that seemed to be pointed in Kanye’s direction and asked how to go about getting Canadian citizenship, which many Americans can relate to.

The Grammy Award winner, 34, appeared to reference Kanye West’s recent jab at her weight as she spoke out against people insulting her “for no mother—ing reason” during her Friday concert in Toronto, according to a video obtained by TMZ.

“I feel like everybody in America got my mother—ing name in their mother—ing mouth for no mother—ing reason. I’m minding my fat, Black, beautiful business!” Lizzo said in the clip.

Here’s that:

In strolled Azealia to springboard off of someone else’s controversy, mentioning Kanye’s history with unhealthy food. via Billboard:

“He can’t be trying to lollipop off the 4 year old discussion about Lizzo’s health and weight when he has an entire McDonald’s commercial,” the “212” rapper wrote on her Instagram Stories, in reference to Ye’s 2022 Super Bowl commercial for the fast food chain restaurant.

And this wasn’t even Azealia’s first Kanye dragging. But when I heard that Azealia defended Lizzo against Kanye in her Instagram Stories, I was hopeful in a “well, even broken clocks are right twice a day” way, but of course, she couldn’t do it without shitting on someone else first. Kanye and Gigi Hadid are also beefing because of Kanye being Kanye, so Azealia took aim at Gigi first before taking Lizzo’s side. She’s also concerned about Ye’s electrolytes, which might be valid, given his recent antics.

Kanye hasn’t said anything about Azealia’s take yet, probably because of his Instagram and Twitter restrictions for the other evil stuff he’s said since the Fucker show. Azealia almost had me here, until I was reminded that she also slammed Lizzo’s weight a few years ago; so girl, what are you doing?

While Banks defended Lizzo following Ye’s comments, she has a history of discussing the “Juice” singer’s weight as well. “I hate you, fat Lizzo,” she posted on her Instagram Stories back in 2019. “I f—ing hate you, girl.”

With Azealia’s dalliances in hypocrisy, dabblings in extreme religion, comments about things that don’t concern her whatsoever, and trysts with Elon Musk; she and Kanye have a ton in common. Let’s all hope that they don’t realize that– because if she, Ye, and his new minion, Candace Owens, joined forces; I’m not sure we would ever recover from the colossal wave of attention-seeking evil that would ensue. I haven’t figured out where the rhinestone flip-flops fit into all of this, but they’re probably conjuring something fucky.
