Amanda Bynes Shared That She’s In Cosmetology School To Become A Manicurist

As we’re all well aware, Amanda Bynes has had a rough go of things for the better part of a decade. She grappled with addiction and mental health struggles (leading to some wild tweets, among other things), was put under a conservatorship by her parents and has a turbulent relationship with her on/off fiancé, Paul Michael, who’s an allegedly abusive salmon-vandal. In the last couple of years, though, it seems like she’s been working to piece her life back together. She was successful in ending her conservatorship and got on the path to having a career outside of acting. Although she didn’t earn an “Easy A”– it took her five years–she did eventually graduate from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. And a few days ago, Amanda revealed that she’s currently attending a cosmetology college to become a manicurist.

E! News says that Amanda put up an Instagram Story on Friday where she updated her fans that she’s in school to become a MAHHH-HAH-nicurist (I’m so sorry).

The Amanda Show alum revealed the news by posting a video of herself inside the facility and giving viewers a glimpse of what she is learning. In the clip, Amanda posed in front of a mirror while sporting a black T-shirt and leggings. The 36-year-old panned the camera to show off the learning space and a set of three nails adorned with black and silver polish.

“In cosmetology college,” she wrote in her Oct. 7 Instagram Stories,” to become a manicurist!”

But that isn’t “All That” Amanda has up her sleeve to make us all a little less ugly (and smelly). She’s making other career moves too, including furthering her studies at FIDM and developing a fragrance.

“I am continuing with my Bachelor’s Degree at FIDM, majoring in Creative Industry Studies with a core in Beauty Marketing and Product Development,” Amanda exclusively told E! News. “I am traveling to New York in June to work on developing a fragrance which will be ready to launch near the holidays.”

And although Amanda’s no longer acting, for the time being, she hasn’t completely abandoned the entertainment industry. She’s also working on rap music.

In addition to her ventures in the marketing and product space, Amanda has made new music. Amanda released her second single, “Fairfax,” with her then-fiancé Paul Michael.

And here’s…that.

It seems like Amanda’s parents, who’d been in charge of her conservatorship, aren’t litigious boat-buying attention seekers like Britney Spears’ parents; so hopefully, she won’t have to be in and out of court and can just focus on nailing it in nail school. I’ll always root for Amanda, because anyone whose childhood included working with that disgusting (alleged) deviant Nickelodeon producer, Dan Schneider, is bound to have some demons to overcome. And if Jesus ever needs to take the wheel for Amanda again, at least he’ll be working with a fresh set of glazed-doughnut coffin nails he can admire while steering that shit back in the right direction.
