Princess Kate Got Heckled In Northern Ireland

Yesterday Kate Middleton and Prince William visited Northern Ireland to do royal shit (charity, trip to the bar, charity). Sounds fun! Except for the fact that many Irish people loathe the Royals with every fiber of their being. See: the Irish soccer fans who chanted “Lizzie’s in a box!” hours after THE QUEEN died. So it’s not surprising that Kate encountered some Troubles during a walkabout outside Carrickfergus Castle. People reports that while Kate was greeting people in the crowd, one woman took her hand and said, “Nice to meet you, but it would be better if it were when you were in your own country.” HA! All Kate could do was awkwardly laugh, cuz when ya burnt, ya burnt.
As Kate moved on to shake other people’s hands, the brave Royal-hater added, “Ireland belongs to the Irish.” Here’s the clip. The anonymous woman has red hair and is dressed in green (gotta love an Irish lass who understands branding):

As you can see, the woman was filming the encounter, so hopefully, we’ll see her video soon. Her close-up angle may reveal the panic in Kate’s eyes, her faltering smile, and the beads of sweat forming on her brow. She was probably flashing back to her and William’s disastrous Caribbean tour. “Oh shit, did we make these guys our slaves? Gotta check Wikipedia…”
Other than the heckler, the Irish trip was standard stuff. William and Kate’s day started at the PIPS Suicide Prevention Ireland, a crisis support organization in Belfast. After that, they visited Belfast’s Trademarket, an outdoor street-food market. The couple jumped behind the bar there and took part in a “lighthearted” cocktail-making race:

After that, they traveled 12 miles to Carrickfergus, and visited a teen-outreach charity called Carrick Connect. Carrickfergus is also where Kate encountered the heckler. Ooo, troubled teens and monarch-haters? So serious! I hope Kate nipped a bottle of whiskey from that bar in Belfast. Drink to forget, Princess. Drink to forget.
