Kanye West Wore A “White Lives Matter” Shirt At His Yeezy S9 Fashion Show In Paris
In what is clearly a plea for mercy, Kanye West has reacted to the news that Drake and Taylor Swift are about to release a diss track about him by pandering to their better natures and wearing a White Lives Matter t-shirt at his Yeezy Season 9 show in Paris yesterday. That’s my theory anyway, and I’m sticking to it until somebody can give me a better explanation as to why. Why else would he still be wearing the same flip-flops from Claire’s that he stepped out wearing in London last week if it wasn’t because he was shaking in his size-elephant boots so hard thinking about all the mean things they were gonna say about him, that he broke a toe?
There will be those who argue that Kanye wore the shirt as a “fashion statement,” but that assumes the presence of fashion, of which there was none. Instead, the show was just a series of increasingly bizarre choices punctuated by the end of Naomi Campbell’s runway career. Tragically, in the end, Naomi was consumed entirely by a trash-bag octopus from outer space. Her headstone will read “RIP Naomi – Who tried, and failed, to make it fashion.” TMZ reports:
Kanye West is stirring the pot again … this time wearing a “White Lives Matter” shirt at his Yeezy fashion show.
The Yeezy head honcho was on hand Monday in Paris for a showcasing of his Season 9 collection, and during the show — Ye was seen rocking a black T with a very clear “White Lives Matter” message on the back. The lettering is bold and in white without context.
The show started about an hour late, and featured a kids chorus, including his daughter North that sang while the models walked.
Here’s Kanye speaking at the Yeezy show. For reasons far too obvious to outline here, Kaye’s White Lives Matter shirt has a picture of notably dead white man Pope John Paul II on the front. During his speech, Kanye proved that Drake does in fact live in his minimally furnished crystal mind-palace, rent-free in perpetuity, by proclaiming that luxury conglomerate LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault “is My New Drake.” (via Footwear News). Meaning that Anthropologie CEO Tricia Smith is probably his new Taylor.

Kanye didn’t explain the shirts, which were worn by several other models (and his friend Candace Owens), but he did have something very timely and astute to say about Elvis Presley.
Kanye described the new collection as something you can “pull on and pull over” … dubbing it the future of clothing. He also ranted a bit — musing about how Elvis would fare in 2022 if he was alive, and saying “You cannot manage me” for good measure.

With all eyes on him, Kanye made sure to make a plug for his school, The Donda Academy. And even though his daughter, North West, does not attend, she was part of the children’s choir that served some Pink Floyd’s The Wall miseducation realness and took the stage by sliding down a metal chute while reciting “Good morning, Donda” like identical duffel bags spilling haphazardly out onto the luggage carousel of life.

I hear you can still find it, beaten and abused, cowering in the gutters of Paris, gurgling a weak and defeated “please, take me with you, this planet is INSANE” at every passing garbage truck. I guess it wasn’t white enough for its life to matter.
