Nicki Minaj Got Mad At YouTube For Age Restricting Her Music Video

I guess that Nicki Minaj being married to a registered sex offender may actually be hurting her bottom line because the 39-year-old rapper recently lost it on social media (no surprise there) when YouTube decided to put an age restriction on her new music video Likkle Miss Remix with the artist Skeng. Nicki was displeased that her views were getting slowed by the restriction meant to keep children from overexposure on the Internet, and so she had her Barbz yell at YouTube until they lifted it.

Before we get into things, take two-ish minutes (or the thirty-five-seconds it took me) to decide for yourself if this is appropriate for all ages:

The Root says that Nicki Minaj posted and deleted multiple Instagram posts roasting YouTube and her own label. Nicki’s label received a notice from YouTube about the restriction, and so she dragged her label for not doing anything about it.

“This was done to stop us from getting a lot of views in the first 24 hours. The DUDS at my label allow ppl to use my videos all the time to promote weak shit but said we can’t buy promo for my videos. @YouTube @YouTubemusic it’s time y’all tell ppl that you’re in bed with a whole RECORD LABEL & MNGMNT COMPANY!!!!!”

“HOW LONG HAVE YALL BEEN PLAYING THE NUMBERS GAME TO LIE & PRETEND PPL R DOING ‘GOOD’ WHEN THEY R NOT?!?!? HOW MUCH AD SPACE DID THESE DUDS PURCHASE TO BE PROMOTED ON MY CHANNEL IN THE LAST 5 YEARS?!???!!!!”

That’s right, she thinks this is all-caps SABOTAGE! But Nicki wasn’t done; she then name-dropped an anti-Nicki ne’er-do-well, Lyor Cohen, the Global Head of Music at YouTube who is also the former Def Jam President:

“Imagine this. They restricted my fucking video but have things a million fucking times worse on their BOGUS FKNG PLATFORM. This is what they do to keep you from winning while doing ads for other ppl and posting FAKE FKNG STATS because of the same ppl who run YouTube are in bed with a certain record label and mngmnt company. GO SUCK OUT YA MUDDA BIG PUM PUM. LYOR IT BETTER NOT BE YOU.”

No word yet if the Barbz sent death threats to Lyor Cohen the same way they sent death threats to the YouTuber who is suing the Barbz for harassment.

Here are the deleted posts:

YouTube removed the age restriction, but Nicki still wasn’t completely satisfied saying, “THEY CAN’T GIVE US BACK OUR FIRST 24 HOURS CAN THEY?!?!!! SO MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.”

I guess if Nicki Minaj is the type of person who will blame a toddler for her album debuting at #2 there really isn’t anyone she won’t come for. I’m sure that without the age restriction the video would have already reached a billion views, I mean with lyrics like: “And me say, ayy, likkle miss, look how yuh nipple dem stiff, Gunman mek yuh miss yuh appointment, bitch, You suck dick, yeah, me love bad bitch,” it’s clear that the song is both artistically brilliant AND appropriate for children.
