Johnny Depp is Dating One Of The Attorneys Who Represented Him In His U.K. Trial Against The Sun

I can hardly think of anything more romantic than standing in a court of law presenting a photograph of alleged human excrement left in the marital bed of your sexy movie star client in a failed effort to get a tabloid to take back calling him a “wife-beater. And apparently, I’m not the only one! Us Weekly reports that the “chemistry” between Johnny Depp and Joelle Rich, one of the attorneys who represented him in his libel suit against The Sun, is “off the charts.” Which is really saying something given the jumbo XXL chart opposing counsel presented with his text message that read “I have no mercy, no fear and not an ounce of emotion or what I once thought was love for this gold digging, low level, dime a dozen, mushy, pointless dangling overused flappy fish market … I can only hope that karma kicks in and takes the gift of breath from her,” that ultimately divorced the title “wife beater” from the word “allegedly,” at least as far as The Sun is concerned. So it’s not like giant charts don’t exist, there just isn’t one that can accommodate the incredible chemistry between Johnny and Joelle. Sources claim “it’s serious between them. They are the real deal.” Oh, and did I mention that Joelle is currently married with two kids? Man, talk about a meet cute!

Why it’s so romantic it almost makes you wish Johnny and Angelina Jolie would team up for another thrilling rom-com, The Tourist 2: Destination Divorce! As we know, Johnny lost his libel case against The Sun in the U.K. but was (mostly) victorious in his defamation suit against his ex-wife Amber Heard in Virginia. Joelle only represented Johnny in his U.K. trial but was also present at his U.S. trial in a personal capacity. Us Weekly reports:

A new romance. Johnny Depp is dating lawyer Joelle Rich, who represented him in his U.K. libel lawsuit against The Sun, Us Weekly can exclusively confirm.

“Their chemistry is off the charts,” an insider exclusively tells Us of the Pirates of the Caribbean star, 59, and the attorney. “It’s serious between them. They are the real deal.”

Rich was one of the lawyers who worked on Depp’s case against the U.K. newspaper after he sued the outlet for libel in 2018, but she was not part of the legal team who represented him in his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard earlier this year. She was, however, present in the Virginia courtroom to show her “support” for the Oscar nominee.

“There was no professional obligation for her being there. It was personal,” the source tells Us, adding that the duo “discreetly” met up in hotels during the early stages of their romance.

Us Weekly adds that Joelle “was married when she met Depp, but is now divorcing her husband” with whom she shares two children. Previously Johnny was rumored to have been dating his U.S. attorney Camille Vasquez during his trial against Amber, but Camille denied any romantic involvement with her client claiming the speculation was a “sexist,” “unethical charge.” Looks like Camille launched what in legal terms they call a Shaggy Defense, and redirected the court (of public opinion)’s attention towards Joelle and stating “your Honor, it wasn’t me!” As for Joelle, I hope she’s stocking up on giant charts because she’s going to need them for her own upcoming divorce, and if things go well between her and Johnny, her subsequent divorce from Johnny and any libel or defamation suits he may chose to bring against her at that time. And I’m afraid that after going through what in legal terms they call the Depp Cycle, she may have to represent herself.
