Lady Gaga Got Choked Up After Having To Cancel The Final Show Of Her Tour Because Of Lightning Storms

I don’t know if the Katy Cats, or whoever the Little Monsters’ rivals are, cast some kind of hex over the weekend but their Queen was felled by the forces of nature in Miami this past Saturday. Lady Gaga was forced to cancel the closing show of her Chromatica Ball Tour because of lightning storms. Or maybe the Gods just wondered why she closes her setlist with that Top Gun: Maverick trash. Zeus was like: “Really? Hold My Hand to close? Mmmm, let’s just skip it tonight.”
Gaga’s show at the Hard Rock Stadium had already begun by the time the lightning storms in the area started popping off. The show was postponed at first with the promise of returning. At least the fans had a good time by singing to the timely Gaga and Ariana Grande song, Rain On Me, as they were pelted by the elements. Of course, God didn’t like that and stopped the party with more thunderous bolts:

Eventually, the fans were allowed back for the show, but Gaga ended up coming out and telling them to pack it up anyway because it was time to go.

Billboard says that Gaga took to social media after the cancellation with emotional messages to her fans:
“We really tried to finish the show tonight in Miami but we couldn’t, because even when the rain sort of stopped, there was lightning that was striking right down to the ground so close to us… I know that for a really long time I’ve always wanted to be, like, that hardcore bad bitch, but what I really want is to also be responsible and loving. I don’t know what I would do if anything happened to anybody in the audience or any member of my crew (or) my band, my dancers.”
“I’m sorry i couldn’t finish the show it was too dangerous the lightening was being unpredictable and changing moment by moment,” Gaga wrote in another Instagram post. “Look, for years some of you have called me “mother monster,” in my heart I knew it was better to keep you safe. Thank you for believing in me.”
There are videos from the same night of a Lady Gaga impersonater who fooled some and had security following her:

So hopefully that Drag Queen was a true Little Monster and finished the show for everyone in the parking lot by lip-syncing to a Gaga song playing on someone’s iPhone. Close enough, right?
