Julia Fox Says That Bravo Approached Her About Joining “The Real Housewives Of New York City” Cast, But She Turned Them Down

As we know, the last season of The Real Housewives of New York City was so dismally-rated that there wasn’t even a cast reunion, so Bravo is attempting to resuscitate the franchise by starting over with an entirely new cast for the original show while also creating a spinoff that they’ve been referring to as RHONY: Legacy, which will feature some of the messy New York “wives” (0% of the last cast was married while on the show) of seasons past. And if Bravo reaching out to UNCAHT JAHMS (Uncut Gems) muse/Kanye West ex-stunt-girlfriend, Julia Fox, to hold a golden apple is any indication of the caliber of characters we might be subjected to (so far, “Texas influencer” Lizzy Savetsky is the only confirmed new cast member), it looks like more disappointment may await; but she claims to have turned the opportunity down. 

During an interview with ES Magazine, Julia got into the only reason why Real Housewives producers wanted to talk to her in the first place: KANYE! She says that Kanye got her number through a mutual friend, and suggests that she’s the one who ended things because of his obsession with his ex. via People:

After agreeing that there was “a good amount” of what ES described as a “romantic spark” between the two, Fox said that she took the relationship “day by day” to see “where it went.”

But, Fox added, “real life set in and the lifestyle wasn’t sustainable. I couldn’t fly away once a week. And I tapped out at the first sign of a red flag.”

Elaborating on what exactly the red flag was that she saw in West, Fox hinted to the outlet that his public divorce from Kim Kardashian played a major role in why she stepped away.

“The unresolved issues that he was dealing with,” she said. “It just seems like he had a lot to work on, and I just don’t have time for it, or energy. I don’t have the bandwidth or emotional capacity for it.”

“I’m proud of myself for that,” Fox added to ES.

Julia, who’s already seemed to have coined her own Housewives tagline by proclaiming to ES Magazine that she’s a “…real-ass bitch in a sea full of fucking phonies,” says that Bravo reached out to see if she was interested in being part of the new Real Housewives Of New York City reboot, but she’s not ready right now. via Yahoo! “They called, but I told them, I’m just not really there yet right now,” she told ES Magazine in a profile published Sept. 15. “But maybe in the future.”

And if she were to join the reality franchise down the line, Fox wants to do it on her terms. She added, “I would only do it if it could be me and my friends on it.”

So what I’m hearing is that they didn’t offer her Kanye “hotel room filled with racks of Balenciaga clothes and accessories” type compensation. Julia does have a friend (and former Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor) in Leah McSweeney, though, who appeared on the last ill-fated RHONY season and whose future on the show is still unknown. Leah believes that Julia has what it takes to artfully toss vibrators into a plate of chicken on a weekend Hamptons getaway.

If Fox is only willing to join alongside her friends, she already has one in McSweeney, who previously expressed interest in seeing her join the cast on an episode of Watch What Happens Live. She told host Andy Cohen on April 6, “I don’t see why not.”

But her friend’s rise to fame doesn’t come as a surprise to the RHONY star, as she exclusively told E! News in April that “Julia was always meant to be famous and in the spotlight.”

McSweeney continued, “She’s honestly just exactly the same. She’s eccentric and funny and it’s good for her. I’m happy for her…It’s pretty fascinating.”

Maybe it won’t be this season, but when Julia inevitably decides that she’s ready for more negative attention, Manhattan better stock up on low-rise pants and get extra OxiClean for when her and her friend group’s maniacally thick eyeliner hits the restaurant scene. If you thought it couldn’t get lower than Sonja Morgan allegedly letting guys put lit cigarettes into her vagina, just wait until Julia shows us what she has up those overdone latex sleeves.
