Demi Lovato Said She Might Be Done Touring After Her Current “Holy Fvck” Tour Due To An Undisclosed Illness

Demi Lovato isn’t usually one to shy away from oversharing, whether it’s the sad sex skills of her ex-fiance, Max Ehrich, or giving us the math for how long she’s been “a bleeder,” but when it came to the Instagram Stories she posted and deleted yesterday where she said she was “so sick” and that her current Holy Fvck tour would be her last, Demi was more tight-lipped with details than normal.

It’s hard to know how seriously to take anything Demi says since a simple sugar-free cookie display could be the making of a meltdown, but according to Page Six, last night before taking the stage in Santiago, Chile, Demi posted a series of Stories to let fans know that she wasn’t well and touring is taking its toll.

“I’m so f—king sick I can’t get out of bed,” Lovato, 30, wrote atop photos that seem to be taken from a hotel room.

“I can’t do this anymore. This next tour will be my last. I love and thank you guys.”

The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer, who uses “she/her” and “they/them” pronouns, did not share further details regarding the health issues she’s currently facing.

Here are the since-deleted stories:

Which left her fans, the Lovatics, concerned for her health and wellbeing.

“Demi lovato means the whole world to me.. but I’ve always had this awful feeling everytime they go on tour it’s not good for them mentally or physically,” one fan tweeted, adding that they just want the singer to be “happy and healthy.”

“I think we forget how much trauma demi lovato has been through.. we forget how heavy day to day life is for them.. i was shocked when they announced a tour at all.. all i could ever want is for demi to be happy, hard to read but it keeps demi healthy that’s what matters,” another user wrote after hearing the news.

It looks like she did end up pulling it together to perform that night though:

Demi suffers from bipolar disorder, addiction, and the after-effects of a drug overdose, so there are several things that could be making touring more difficult.

Following a near-fatal overdose in 2018, which caused the singer to suffer three strokes and a heart attack, Lovato maintained a “California sober” lifestyle for the years following, meaning she still drank alcohol and smoked weed in moderation.

However, in December 2021, Lovato announced that being completely sober was “the only way” for her to live a healthy lifestyle while she quietly completed another stint in rehab.

Along with touring, it looks like Demi will also discontinue her habit of making documentaries about her life (there’s been three: Demi Lovato: Stay Strong, Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated, and Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil) because she thinks people are getting tired of her, which is probably the most accurate thing she’s ever uttered.

Last month, the songstress revealed in an interview with Alternative Press that she doesn’t plan on making any more documentaries about her life.

“Honestly, I’m really sick of watching myself, and I think other people probably are too,” Lovato said. “And if they aren’t, then they can watch my music videos.”

Hopefully, Demi’s illness is a simple case of vertigo from spending too much time staring at the décor and wallpaper in her hideous fever dream of a “trippy modern farmhouse” and she’s on the mend soon so she’s able to scream through all of her tour dates and continue to advocate against extraterrestrial disrespect.
