Justin Bieber Just Cancelled The Rest Of His Tour Due To Health Issues

Justin Bieber released his sixth studio album, Justice, last March. You know, the album with the super-NOT-tone deaf Martin Luther King Jr. soundbites. The Biebz kicked off his Justice World Tour back in February but canceled (err, “postponed”) the last 14 North American shows in June after he was diagnosed with Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome, which causes temporary facial paralysis. As far as we knew, Justin made a smooth recovery, and he returned to the tour at the end of July, performing 6 shows in Europe and a concert in Brazil over the weekend. He’s back, baby! Or… is he? Today, 28-year-old Justin announced that he’s pulling a plug on the Justice World Tour, which was set to run until March 2023. Justin explains that he’s exhausted and needs to prioritize his health. He’s back to bed, baby!

Justin made the announcement on his Instagram Stories (not even the main grid?), writing that, after getting the okay from his doctors, family, and team after fighting Ramsay-Hunt, he continued his tour in Europe. But it was too much for him:

I performed six live shows, but it took a real toll on me. This past weekend, I performed at Rock in Rio and I gave everything I have to the people in Brazil.

After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now. So I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being. I’m going to be ok, but I need time to rest and get better.

Here’s the full statement, and, yeah, that’s the font he went with:

Here’s a clip of the performance in Brazil that left the Biebz exhausted:

TMZ reports that “a source with direct knowledge” alleged the cancellation is also due to Justin’s mental health:

…a significant reason for the suspension is mental health … Justin’s been struggling in the last few years and it has taken its toll. Another reason is his recent health scare which partially paralyzed his face.

The source adds there is a chance Justin will resume the tour if he gets better, but for now, the plug has been pulled.

Listen, I can’t imagine the physical and mental toll touring takes on the people involved (everybody, from the roadies to the dancers to stars like Justin). I can’t even take a 30-minute subway ride without falling asleep, missing my stop, and feeling “overwhelmed”. And my tolerance has lowered significantly since the pandemic. So, my thoughts are with Justin. Especially since, as far as recent concert cancellation announcements go, his excuse is waaay better than what Adele pulled back in January.
