Jameela Jamil Has Words For People Who Joke That Lea Michele Can’t Read

Today’s world is full of conspiracies and, unfortunately, we’ve moved on from fun things like Bigfoot to more serious theories. But every now and then people on the internet make up ridiculous yet fairly innocuous stories that spread like wildfire as a joke. Case in point: it is widely believed (not really) that Lea Michele can’t read. Yes, the Glee alum supposedly struggled to treat her co-stars with respect because she couldn’t read the room. Lea doesn’t think the joke is funny and said during a New York Times interview that people wouldn’t be joking about her not being able to read if she was a dude. But if the concept of Jonathan Groff feeding Lea her lines via earpiece gave you a chuckle then you need to get off your privileged high horse and be shamed out of existence. That’s what Jameela Jamil, a master at inserting herself into EVERYTHING, believes anyway! Yeah, she’s inserted herself into this non-troversy too.

The “Lea Michele can’t read rumor” has hounded her for some time and it gained enough steam that she actually addressed it in her interview with The New York Times. However, her response of “I went to ‘Glee’ every single day; I knew my lines every single day” didn’t include a clear “I can read” for some reason, so the rumor lives on. Now if you found this amusing…

….then Jameela thinks you’re a prick. Upon discovering that people were roasting Lea for a made-up story, Jameela determined that she needed to let the world know that it’s not ok to make fun of Lea Michele. Bullying is Lea’s job!

If this is an attempt to grab attention so that more people watch Jameela in She-Hulk, she should try CGI twerking instead. However, the post is probably just Jameela’s typical brand of activism in that she believes a strongly worded Instagram post or Twitter beef will solve all the world’s ills. Elon Musk needs to hurry up and threaten to buy all of social media so that Jameela can take a break and discover what activism looks like in person. The saddest part of this whole thing is that poor Lea will have no idea what Jameela wrote to defend her. Oh, the cruel irony!
