Sarah Michelle Gellar Wants Howard Stern To Pay Up After Saying Her Marriage Wouldn’t Last
Many movies ago, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. met on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer and fell madly in love, which doesn’t happen very much in Hollywood. Normally stars meet, they get the underwear tingles and settle things during a quick romp in their trailer. But not for SMG and Freddie. Their love has endured for twenty years, so in a bit of throwback humor, SMG recalled a time when Freddie appeared on The Howard Stern Show in 2001 and discussed his upcoming plans for marriage with host Howard Stern. And of course, Howard gave his congratulations by basically asking Freddie “Why the hell do you wanna do that?”
Entertainment Tonight reports SMG recently took to her Instagram page to shout out Freddie on their 20th wedding anniversary in a touching photo from their wedding day.
Oh, what a sweet and tender moment for the two of them to share. However, the real treat came for SMG when she also took to her stories to remind Howard that it is, in fact, twenty years later and they’re both still together. And she wants to know where the hell their money is after the bet he placed with Freddie all those years ago.
She also took to her Instagram Stories and posted screen shots of Prinze’s interview on The Howard Stern Show, in which Stern tells the actor, “So you will marry Sarah Michelle Gellar even though you know that it won’t last.”
Prinze said “absolutely it will last” but Stern wasn’t buying it, so much so that he told Prinze, “I wanna make a written bet with you. In about 10 years you’re gonna hunt me down and go, ‘Howard, I owe you money.'” Prinze agreed and said he wanted to get the bet in writing, but Howard continued grilling Prinze, 25 at the time, about tying the knot.

SMG needs Howard to understand that a bet is a bet, and he clearly lost. As far as Freddie’s concerned, he’s no fool and stands in solidarity with his wife.
But, not only did she post the screen shots of the interview, Gellar also tagged The Howard Stern Show and said, “What do you think?!?!” followed by “I think you owe us.”
Prinze also reposted Gellar’s Stories and added, “She will never forget.” He also included two laugh crying emojis.
Now, just for context, around the time of his interview with Freddie, Howard had just ended his first marriage so maybe he was still chomping on hay in the Bitter Barn. But in any event, he lost the bet so it’s time to pay up. And he better ask Robin to cough up a few coins towards the bet as well since she’s guilty by association.
