Open Post: Hosted By The First Footage Of Lea Michele In “Funny Girl”

With each day that passes, we get closer and closer to Lea Michele starring in Funny Girl on Broadway. She’s the permanent replacement for Beanie Feldstein, who left the show early at the end of July. Deadline reports that, on Friday, the production’s official Twitter account posted a promotional video of Lea rehearsing and singing “Don’t Rain On My Parade.” And not once in this footage do we see the 35-year-old actress shitting in anyone’s wig or threatening to shit in anyone’s wig. Oh wow, she really is on her very best behavior.

The video shows Lea singing, dancing, acting with Jane Lynch-replacement Tovah Feldshuh as Mrs. Brice, and drinking coffee in rehearsals (oh no, she’s gearing up to shit in someone’s wig!). The copy reads:

A Star Returns
The Role of a Lifetime
Hello, Gorgeous. Hello, Leah.

Reactions to the tweet are mixed. One tweeter was like, “oh, you hired a racist,” others begrudgingly admitted Lea’s voice was still amazing, and a few shit on “cancel culture” and championed the actress’ return to Broadway. Lea also posted the video on her Instagram, and Lindsay Lohan commented with three clapping emojis and some hearts. Oh wow, the ultimate endorsement!

Yesterday, People magazine, proud supporters of The Redemption of Lea Michele (Est. 2022), reported on Lea celebrating her son Ever’s second birthday:

See, this is why I don’t think Lea is evil. How could someone who had unprotected sex and popped a baby out of their cooch be a bad person? It’s impossible! Mommy Lea is basically a saint now.
