During The Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck Wedding Festivities On Saturday, His Ex-Wife Jennifer Garner Shopped At Sam’s Club

The 3-day long repeat nuptials of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finally happened this weekend and reportedly went off without a hitch (besides Ben’s mom, Chris Affleck, falling off of a dock and cutting her leg). Having to go to a multiple-day, extravagant, all-white dress-coded, faux wedding on a faux Georgia plantation during a hot-as-balls August sounds like one half of a “would you rather” game question, and apparently, Jennifer Garner was playing along with all of us and clearly made the choice that she’d rather “go shopping at a West Virginia Sam’s Club on a busy Saturday” than attend the Bennifer 2.0 soiree–despite unconfirmed reports that she was invited– because according to TMZ, that’s exactly what she did.

The guests at Bennnifer’s second wedding included Kevin Smith and Matt Damon, who shared a JLo-less private jet ride with Ben after the celebrations:

The guests who didn’t make it to the wedding included Ben’s brother Casey Affleck (who was busy taking his son to soccer practice) and Jennifer Garner. TMZ says that Jennifer G. hit up Sam’s Club Saturday afternoon with her dad and her boyfriend, CaliBurger CEO John Miller.

The previous Mrs. Affleck was checking out the aisles at S.C. in S.C. — Sam’s Club in South Charleston — over in West Virginia just before 4 PM. That’s about the time all the festivities got underway in Savannah, Georgia, where Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez tied the knot for a second time.

An eyewitness tells TMZ, she was shopping with 2 guys, who looked like her dad and her boyfriend, businessman John Miller. She was super friendly .,.. taking photos with fans and in a good mood.

Here are some snaps of her Sam’s Club run:

I’d be in a good mood too if I got out of that 3-day open-air torture chamber to instead indulge in free samples and stock my pantry with months worth of Tostitos with enough time left over to go home and catch some Netflix with my kids out of the house. Page Six said that Jennifer cited a scheduling conflict as the reason she wouldn’t be able to attend her ex-husband’s second wedding in the span of a month to the same person he was engaged to before her.

Garner, who was married to Affleck from 2005 to 2018 and is the mother of his three children, has no bad blood for Bennifer 2.0, but instead said the issue was a scheduling conflict. Her children with Affleck, Violet, 16, and Seraphina, 13, and Sam, 11 are expected to attend the celebration this weekend at the actor’s estate in Riceboro, Georgia.

“Jennifer Garner is hard at work on a project in Texas and won’t be attending the wedding celebration, but she’s been totally supportive of her kids being there and is really positive in general about the whole thing,” an insider told Hollywood Life. “There is nothing more important to her than her kids’ happiness so the fact that they feel welcomed and at ease and have bonded with J.Lo and her kids is just the best thing she could ask for.”

And according to Deadline, Jennifer’s been spending time in Texas shooting an Apple limited series called The Last Thing He Told Me. On Saturday, she even posted a video from Texas on Instagram–probably to prove to everyone that she did, indeed, have other shit to do besides sweat through a white chiffon dress. Here’s the receipt she posted to make sure that everyone knew that she was in Texas at some point so no one could doubt that she did actually have a reason to not attend the JLAffleck Ego Festival.

So in my eyes, Jennifer Garner did everything right here. She had a legitimate excuse to not go but still did something with high visibility that she could easily play off as a necessary task if anyone were to try to call her on it. And, the chef’s kiss shade of going bargain shopping while your ex-husband blows millions on a mock wedding is priceless. Take notes, mama Chris Affleck. This is how you wiggle your way out of an event.
