Bryce Dallas Howard Says She Was Paid “So Much Less” Than Chris Pratt For The “Jurassic World” Trilogy

In case we needed further proof that Hollywood is sick in the head, one the world’s highest ranking, red-headed nepotism babies, Bryce Dallas Howard, can’t even get a fair shake in this town. Bryce recently told Insider that she was paid “so much less than the reports even said,” than one of the world’s lowest ranking Chrises, her nepotism-by-way-of Jesus Jurassic World trilogy co-star Chris Pratt. And because the almighty dollar is mightier than the Almighty himself, Bryce made sure to praise Chris, as is presumably a contractual obligation each of Chris’ co-stars must adhere to, by saying he went to bat for her and “pushed for the actor to receive equal pay on other franchise opportunities that were not already contractually binding, such as spinoff video games and theme-park rides” after she told him the terms of the three-picture contract she signed in 2014.

The pay gap between Bryce and Chris is even more egregious when you take into account that she did all the same whoopin’ & hollerin’ as him, only she had to do it backwards and in heels, and presumably without Jesus’ personal blessings. Insider reports:

The “Jurassic World” star Bryce Dallas Howard exclusively told Insider that she was paid “so much less” than her costar Chris Pratt for the movie franchise than reports initially indicated.

Pratt and Howard were co-leads in all three movies in the “Jurassic World” trilogy. But in 2018, Variety reported that Howard was paid $2 million less than Pratt for the second movie, “Fallen Kingdom,” earning $8 million while Pratt took home $10 million.

In an interview with Insider to mark the home-entertainment release of “Jurassic World Dominion,” Howard said the pay gap between her and Pratt was, in fact, larger.

“The reports were so interesting because I was paid so much less than the reports even said, so much less,” Howard told Insider exclusively. “When I started negotiating for ‘Jurassic,’ it was 2014, and it was a different world, and I was at a great disadvantage. And, unfortunately, you have to sign up for three movies, and so your deals are set.”

To be fair, in 2014 when Bryce signed on for JW, her last film credit was 4th billed in 50/50, that Seth Rogen cancer movie which came out in 2011, the same year as The Help, which couldn’t have helped. And Chris had just come off the final season of Parks and Rec followed back-to-back by The Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy. You know, the good old days when, as far as we know, Chris was a perfectly fine Chris. But according to Bryce, Chris is still very much #1 on her list of Best Chrises I’ve Run Away From Dinosaurs With While Wearing Silly Shoes.

“What I will say is that Chris and I have discussed it, and whenever there was an opportunity to move the needle on stuff that hadn’t been already negotiated, like a game or a ride, he literally told me: ‘You guys don’t even have to do anything. I’m gonna do all the negotiating. We’re gonna be paid the same, and you don’t have to think about this, Bryce,'” Howard said.

The actor continued: “And I love him so much for doing that. I really do, because I’ve been paid more for those kinds of things than I ever was for the movie.”

I watched the first Jurassic World on an airplane but skipped others because there aren’t enough single-serving bottles of gin on Chris’ God’s green earth to convince me to drink from that poisoned well again, so I don’t know which actor should have been paid more. But the last time I saw Bryce on-screen, she was taking personal responsibility for every time she “explained away police brutality or turned a blind eye.” Meanwhile, Chris won’t even cop to being named Chris anymore. Surely Dakota Johnson could share her agent’s number with Bryce, one red-headed nepotism baby to another, so she won’t need to rely on her co-stars to negotiate for her in the future.
