Earlier this week Drake took to Instagram to make fun of his dad, Dennis Graham, for getting a shitty arm tattoo of his face. Dennis got the tat five years ago, and its first iteration didn’t look anything like his son. But after rounds of touch-ups, it… well, it certainly improved. I wouldn’t go so far as to call it “not embarrassing”, but you do you, Daddy Drake! Cut to this morning, when Page Six reported that 35-year-old Drake got a face tattoo as a tribute to his mother, Sandi Graham. Since Dennis’ ink was still fresh in my mind, I imagined Mommy Drake’s face permanently etched onto her son’s cheek or forehead, a la Aaron Carter’s bonkers Medusa-Rihanna tat. But Drake’s actual tattoo is just Sandi’s initials in lowercase under his eye. How tasteful!* *for a celebrity face tattoo
Drake debuted his tattoo on Instagram yesterday, and, am I crazy, or does the s.g. sorta look like a 69?
An hour later the tattoo artist, Nal, posted a video of the rapper getting inked. You know Drake’s a bad boy cuz he wasn’t crying and screaming “Owwiieeee!”:
This is Drake’s first face tattoo, but he’s got a bajillion others all over his body. When he and non-Medusa-Rihanna were dating, they got matching shark tattoos after a romantic night at the Ripley’s Aquarium in Toronto (Drake rented out the whole place for her, and, according to the aquarium staff members I interrogated, it was “very romantic and Rihanna’s really hot”). RiRi covered her shark tat up last year, but, as far as we know, Drake still has his. This tells us that, even when Drake and his tattoo muses fall out, he’s still committed to the ink. So if Mommy Drake dumps his ass, he’ll continue rockin’ the s.g. But if he doesn’t… there’s always 69.
