Open Post: Hosted By The Thank You Note Beyonce Sent Madonna For Her Help With The “Break My Soul” Remix

As Renaissance continues to provide the soundtrack for the BeyHive’s lives, Beyonce knows she can only stay stagnant for so long. Although Renaissance‘s first single Break My Soul is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Beyonce decided to remix the song with Madonna‘s iconic 1990 hit Vogue, calling it The Queens Remix. As a thank you for her assistance, Beyonce literally gave Madonna her flowers as well as a note that Madge immediately posted to her Instagram so everyone knows she’s still cool.

According to Billboard points out, The Queens Remix takes inspiration from Madonna’s original bridge where she shouted out icons of the industry like Grace Kelly and Jean Harlow and instead replaces those names with icons of Black culture including Grace Jones, Lizzo, Roberta Flack, and Missy Elliott, among others.

“Break My Soul (The Queens Remix)” interpolates Madonna’s 1990 classic Hot 100 No. 1 “Vogue,” and pays tribute to legendary Black female artists such as Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross, as well as iconic ballroom houses including the House of Aviance and the House of Xtravaganza. The new version of the Renaissance lead single follows four DJ remixes, a “cliquebait” video, and the official visualizer for the original version of the song.

Lizzo and Missy both took to Twitter to thank their Queen for shouting them out on the track.

Meanwhile, Kelis is probably still waiting for her note. But Madge also took to her Instagram for a rare post where she’s not terrorizing us all with her filter fun and showed the flowers and note Beyonce sent her for her assistance with The Queens Remix. Okay, but something deep in my spirit is preparing for Madonna’s next upcoming project or tour to be named Masterpiece Genius because of Beyonce’s note, so let’s all be on the lookout for that in the near future.

Here’s The Queens Remix of Break My Soul:
