Open Post: Hosted By Sparky, The Exhausted Dog Who Refuses To Walk

August 1, 2022 / Posted by:

I hate shopping. Hate it. Whenever I step foot in a mall, a wave of fatigue washes over my body. My eyelids droop. My legs cease to function. I must immediately find a place to rest (ideally, a food court). This is all to say, I can deeply relate to Sparky, the exhausted mini bull terrier who Boing Boing says went viral on TikTok for deciding that enough was enough: he was done with his shopping walk. So, Sparky let his body go dead, forcing his owners to drag his weary little body through the mall. On the plus side, those floors have never been shinier!

Here’s Sparky being a massive drama queen and giving up on the “walk” part of his walk:

Sparky’s give-no-shits attitude immediately earned him thousands of fans on TikTok. Lots of comments like, “Love me a dramatic angel,” “Me doing the bare minimum to get through the day,” and pointing out that his owners probably need to invest in a stroller for lazy dogs. Hmmm, I was thinking a skateboard, but the stroller idea works too.

Let’s just thank the heavens that Sparky’s owners didn’t take him for a drag-walk on a gravel driveway. Or through a patch of prickly bushes!
