Jodie Sweetin and Mescal Wasilewski Got Married Over The Weekend

A big “well pin a rose on your nose” to the new Mr. and Mrs. Stephanie Judith Tanner! People reported that Jodie Sweetin of Full House/Fuller House fame and Mescal Wasilewski, a clinical social worker, got married in the backyard of a private Malibu estate on Saturday evening. And if you’re feeling a vague tinge of “ehh, I have an uneasy feeling about this” deja vu, it might be because Jodie’s done this every few years; Mescal is her fourth husband since the early aughts (and there have been some unsuccessful engagements sprinkled in there as well). But while Jodie had her predictable child-star messy period, she’s seemingly gotten back on her own two feet again over the years–besides recently getting knocked off of them by overly-aggressive cops while she protested the overturning of Roe vs. Wade.
While I was hoping that Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen served as flower girls, enveloped in yards of black fabric and dropping cigarette ash instead of flower petals, they weren’t even in attendance. But, some of Jodie’s Full House castmates were there, like John Stamos, Andrea “Gibbler“ Barber, and Candace Cameron Bure (who was so kind to take a few minutes away from probably praying for JoJo Siwa’s soul). I’m sure if not for the tragic passing of Bob Saget earlier this year, he would have been there too as he seemed to remain close with the cast. via People:
The bride, wearing a gown from Lili Bridals, walked down the aisle with her father Sam, while her daughters — Zoie, 14 and Beatrix, 11 — stood beside her as she and Wasilewski exchanged personalized vows and rings from Kay Jewelers.
Sweetin chose a Neil Lane 1/3ct diamond contour wedding band and Wasilewski selected a white gold band. To celebrate the blending of their families, the couple also gifted her daughters with matching yellow gold and diamond Kay Jewelers Circle of Gratitude necklaces.
“I know I have the right partner for the rest of whatever life brings me,” says Sweetin, 40, who got engaged to Wasilewski in January. “And I couldn’t be more grateful.”
Well ok, girl, secure that Kay Jewelers sponsorship. The article doesn’t mention if Jodie walked down the aisle to the wedding version of “Forever” by Jesse and The Rippers, but I cannot envision these nuptials happening any other way, so let’s just assume. And if any guests stopped at Chipotle beforehand to prepare their bellies for cocktail absorption, the light probably faded from their eyes as dinner was unveiled, because their butts and Jodie’s bathrooms were about to have a bad time.
Following the backyard ceremony, the 50 guests, including her Full House castmates Stamos, 58, Cameron Bure, 46, and Andrea Barber, enjoyed a dinner of tacos and a guacamole bar, catered by Border Grill. The group also ate small cake and dessert bites from Big Sugar Bakeshop.
“I didn’t want it to be fussy,” says Sweetin of the reception, which was planned by Sara Landon Events. “The look is very organic and natural. It’s just about good food and good friends — and twinkle lights!”
Here’s the happy couple:
Jodie and Mescal have been together for five years, so fingers crossed that this union is the successful culmination of lots of marriage experiences and rational choices and is her last one; Mr. Bear cannot bear even one more strange bedfellow or have to conduct any more background checks. He’s ready to loosen his trench belt and hang up his hat. His ass is tired and the glut of tacs & guac didn’t help.
