Taylor Swift Tops The List Of Carbon Emitting Celebrities Thanks To Her Rampant Use Of Private Jets

As you may have noticed, the world is slowly roasting. And though it’s great for a chic summer tan, it’s less great for the survival of our species. Despite what you may think, an existential crisis of this magnitude doesn’t mean all that much to some members of society, namely the private jet class. You can’t show off your celebrity status by riding around on an e-bike! Kylie Jenner recently got into some globally warmed hot water for taking a quick 17-minute jet trip instead of driving 45 minutes in light traffic like the rest of us commoners. The youngest of Kris Jenner’s Koven was taken to task for her less than eco-friendly transport habits. So with all this focus on private jets, a digital marketing agency decided to do some research to find out who was the WORST “climate criminal.” And that person is: Taylor Swift! Yep, Doctor Tay Tay is as bad as one of the villains in a Captain Planet episode!

One of the more shocking revelations to come out of the report is that the Kardashian-Jenners didn’t get to the top five! Either we’re not giving them enough credit for their community-mindedness (ha!) or other celebs with private jets give even less of a damn than the Kardashians. Drake didn’t make the top 10 either. So, who else rounded out the “Celebs with the Worst Private Jet Co2 Emissions” list? TMZ explains:

According to Yard, T. Swift has flown private 170 times since January, with a time in the air of about 16 days. Her total flight emissions for the year come in at 8,293.54 tonnes — that’s 1,184.8 times more than the average person’s total annual emissions!!!

To put it into perspective, they say the average person emits 7 tonnes — annually.

Mayweather comes in 2nd place in the pollution race … emitting 7,076 tonnes so far — still over 1K shy of Taylor’s mark.

Jay-Z, A-Rod, Steven Spielberg, and Oprah Winfrey also made the list … and Floyd’s plane took the shortest flight of the year, at 10 minutes.

The Swifties have been hard at work trying to sweep this story under the rug, but unfortunately for them, it’s difficult to combat hard data. And with the temperatures being THIS high recently, we need someone to blame! Now you could give Taylor the benefit of the doubt as she could be flying back and forth between the UK (where her boyfriend Joe Alwyn lives) and the US (where her family lives). HOWEVER! her average flight time is just 80 minutes. Either Taylor has figured out how to travel faster than the speed of sound or she’s using her jet to pop over to the fancy Target the next town over.

Tay Tay is not one to let the narrative go out of her control, though. Her rep told TMZ, “Taylor’s jet is loaned out regularly to other individuals. To attribute most or all of these trips to her is blatantly incorrect.” Ohhhh, so that’s all it is! Taylor is a kind and giving soul and is simply lending her jets to the needy. Move over, soup kitchen. Tay Tay is giving out jet rides! I think by not addressing the climate aspect that everyone is up in arms about and laying the blame on “other individuals,” the rep was hoping that we’d all go back to dogpiling Kylie Jenner. The joke’s on you, rep. We can get roast multiple celebrities all at one time!
