Back in April, NeNe Leakes filed a lawsuit against her former boss Andy Cohen as well as a number of other Bravo producers citing racism and a hostile work environment during her long time on Real Housewives of Atlanta. Well, DUH! to the hostile work environment part because everything she’s a part of is hostile. But as far as proving the racism part NeNe is prepared to let everyone know about the discrimination she faced behind the scenes. But she doesn’t plan on doing it alone. NeNe hopes to enlist the help of Andy’s archenemy Kathy Griffin to serve as her star witness.
According to Radar Online, NeNe’s days of being very rich must be very over because she is ready to fight tooth and nail for this lawsuit. And in preparation for her day in court, NeNe wants Kathy involved because they both can’t stand Andy Cohen. And now that NeNe has gone from one of Andy’s favorite people to the recipient of “New phone who dis?” whenever she texts him, she knows it’s time to fight dirty.
While a judge has given both sides until August 19 to “negotiate” the dispute, Leakes is busy trying to recruit a heavy hitter to help her win the lawsuit: Kathy Griffin. “Kathy was one of the first-ever stars on Bravo,” a source connected to the lawsuit told RadarOnline.com.
“Long before The Real Housewives, Kathy had her own hit show on Bravo. My Life on the D-list put Andy Cohen on the map at a time when the network was basically still a start-up.
“Kathy knows everything about Bravo and Andy. She was there from day one and saw how the machine operates. NeNe knows that.”
If there’s anyone on this planet who can strike fear into Andy’s cold heart it would be Kathy, because she is not afraid of him and will definitely spill all the tea in that courtroom like a drunk butler. Andy Cohen has been Kathy’s nemesis for years and the amount of behind-the-scenes knowledge she has on him could probably fuel a number of Netflix documentaries. And this works in NeNe’s favor because nobody else is willing to help her. Probably because she’s an awful person, but that’s beside the point. Kathy has yet to agree to speak on NeNe’s behalf yet, but if she decides to do so others may follow suit. But in any case, whether Kathy joins the fight or not, NeNe will continue with her one-woman crusade for justice.
Bravo and NBCUniversal recently argued in court that Leakes’ past contract affords for any dispute to be “subject to arbitration in New York.”
Arbitration is a legally binding process in which two parties use an independent, impartial third party to settle any dispute.
But a source warned: “Nene is not going away. She plans to fight until her last breath!”
Dun-Fun-DUNNNNN! I hope NeNe and Kathy both take this opportunity to join forces like the Wonder Twins and become the most powerful members of the We Hate Andy Cohen Club. Of course, new names get added to that club on a daily basis, but when the villain is as maniacal as Andy you need all the help you can get.
