A Judge Decided That Britney Spears Does Not Have To Sit For A Deposition With Jamie Spears’ Lawyer

Britney Spears seems to be having one Lucky July: she dipped her bare foot back into music when she shared herself low-yodeling …Baby One More Time in front of her laundry room and recorded a remake of Tiny Dancer with Elton John that’s soon-to-be released, AND she’s having score after score in court.  A judge ruled earlier this month that Jamie Spears will have to answer to allegations of conservatorship abuse in a deposition with Britney’s lawyer that he’s been trying to dodge. Now, a judge has ruled that Britney, seen here modeling what I would assume is her finest court-ture, will not have to be deposed by Jamie’s lawyer despite Jamie riding hard for it.

TMZ reported that at yesterday’s court proceedings in the conservatorship case, Britney’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, and Jamie’s lawyer, Alex Weingarten, battled it out about Britney sitting for a depo, with Mathew reigning supreme.

Britney’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, told the judge … Britney has been traumatized by Jamie by his actions for more than a decade. Rosengart said putting Britney under oath in a deposition would re-traumatize her.

…Jamie filed legal docs in June, asking a judge to force her to sit for a depo … claiming she’s been going on a campaign to trash him online, and in her upcoming memoir … and he deserves a chance to question her under oath about the allegations. Jamie’s lawyer argued that his client’s hands would be tied without allowing him to depose his daughter … in order to defend himself against the various claims Britney and her lawyer made. Jamie’s lawyer says his client will be vindicated, and did nothing wrong.

The judge determined that Jamie can defend himself against the allegations he refutes–which include forcing Britney to have eight vials of blood drawn for treatment, making her undergo therapy against her will, and not allowing her to have pain relievers–via other means that don’t include making Britney talk. Isn’t it kind of weird that Jamie is objecting to those three accusations, but not the ones about him wiretapping her phone or spying on her internet history? Of all of his dealings in the shady arts that she’s accused him of, having her seek medical treatment and go to therapy sound like the least nefarious.

The judge said whatever information Jamie Spears needs to defend himself against allegations of conservatorship abuse can be obtained from other sources, such as documents and, presumably, other witnesses.

Here’s Britney’s attorney discussing her most recent court victory and how she just wants to move on with her life:

Britney’s parents seemingly alternate turns making messes (with guest appearances from her sister and perpetual second-fiddle, Jamie Lynn Spears), so it’s Lynne Spears’ turn to get tagged in again. Looks like Britney can hang up that fancy courtin’ dress (for now), but we all know that Jamie’s situationship with fucking with Britney and/or her money is the greatest love story ever told, so aside from the fact that Jamie’s lawyer says he plans to appeal the judge’s most recent decision to “leave Britney alone,” you know he’ll eventually speedboat his way back into her atmosphere with more tiresome schemes.
