Britney Spears And Her Mom Lynne Spears Are Having It Out On Instagram Over Unreturned Text Messages From 2019

Due to the outrageous circumstances that led to America’s biggest pop star being locked away, against her will, at the peak of her career, under a sketchy ass conservatorship that lasted over a decade, what happens next in Britney Spears’ life and career is anybody’s guess. So far, it’s been a mixed bag of blessings and bullshit. She’s free, yippee! She’s beefing with her family on Instagram, yikes. She’s married, yippee! (But also *eyeballs emoji*). But what’s Not That Jason Alexander doing there, yikes! This week’s “Yippee!” is that Britney had a secret rendezvous with Sir Elton John at a studio where they laid down a full duet of Tiny Dancer, which Page Six reports will be released by Universal sometime next month. The single will be Britney’s first since 2016’s Slumber Party. That’s the unequivocally good news. Unfortunately, this week’s “Yikes” involves more public family feudin’ on Instagram with Britney’s mom Lynne Spears in the hot seat this time. Again.

Go find yourself the tiniest dancer you can and get yourself a hug. You’re gonna need it. According to Page Six, yesterday, Britney shared several screenshots of text messages she purportedly sent from a mental health facility in 2019 to Lynne, her friend Jansen Fitzgerald and her then court-appointed attorney Sam Ingham, that she claimed had gone unanswered. In the caption, Britney wrote “It’s a little different with proof,” the implication being that Lynne ignored her pleas for help and concerns that she was being over-medicated. Britney’s post was quickly deleted, but not before Lynne caught wind and rushed to her own Instagram to defend herself against Britney’s claims of “abuse” by posting the same text messages that Jansen posted when she rushed to Instagram to defend herself. I am literally motorboating my tiny dancer right now, she’s holding me that close. Page Six reports:

Lynne Spears has entered the chat.

Britney Spears’ mother responded after her daughter shared screenshots of text messages the singer sent her mom, friend and lawyer from a mental health facility in 2019 — all of which Britney insisted garnered “no response.”

“Britney, I have the ‘whole conversations’ as well!” Lynne, 67, captioned a screenshot of texts that Britney’s friend, Jansen Fitzgerald, posted to her Instagram Story Monday to show that she did respond to the pop star.

“I hurt for you that you feel the people who love you the most betrayed you! Let me come to you! I love you!” Lynne added, though she did not share her own alleged responses to her daughter’s desperate pleas.

Here’s Lynne’s repost (nothing says a mother’s love like a repost of somebody else’s knee-jerk reaction to getting called out) in which Jansen writes “This msg along with THOUSANDS of msgs were sent to the court investigator in 2019 in order to help my friend Britney Spears,” and claims she doesn’t know “if some of my msgs to her were deleted by outside sources or what happened.” Indeed, nothing says a father’s love like I’ll take the 5th.

Maybe Lynne should have thought to send an Edible Arrangement with all of Britney’s favorite coffee products and a fun mug with her (Lynne’s) face on it that reads “World’s ______ Mom” that Britney can fill in with a sharpie. Because Britney is not having it. Britney responded with her own post on Instagram (which she later deleted), and unlike Lynne, she wrote that shit herself, with her full chest and signature emoji structure.

Did we ever find out if Brit’s going to have a Starbucks franchise in the subterranean mall at her new place? We can only hope. That would be great for sleepovers, although I’m going to have to assume the guest list has been pared way down since the days of yore. Insider adds:

“I had you, Miss Jacky, Allie and another friend over the night before they took me away!!!” Britney wrote. “I had done nothing wrong and you kept telling me on my couch we need to go to Malibu cause I think people are coming to get me and I said ‘Why???'”

The pop singer continued: “I didn’t believe you guys… we had a fucking sleepover the night before !!! It was all planned and you acted like you had no idea what was going on !!!”

Britney ended the post by saying: “You abused me… yes I will say it and it blows me that you still play the prayer loving mom.”

We need some new emojis like one for “you have some nerve,” because Britney shouldn’t have to type all that. She’s our country’s premiere tiny dancer! Her time should be reserved for twirling and makeup tutorials.
