Kid Rock Fans Trashed A Venue After His Show Was Canceled Due To The Weather

Climate change has a new arch-nemesis: Kid Rock Fans. Just kidding! I doubt many of them even believe in such a thing. But Kid Rock’s fans (yes, he still has those) at least believe in the sanctity of time and promises because when a Kid Rock show ran super late and was ultimately canceled because of extreme weather, his fans lost their minds. They demanded Kid Rock perform for them, and when it was clear he wouldn’t, they trashed the venue in rage. Wow, normally the only thing that can get a Kid Rock fan this angry is a millennial using they/them pronouns.

TMZ says that Kid Rock’s show at the North Dakota State Fair started with a two-and-a-half-hour “opening act” (that’s long–two hours is the main event, bitch), the band Night Ranger. Kid Rock was supposed to start his set at 9:30 pm, but by the time 11:00 pm came, people in the audience began to suspect something. And after an officer from the Sheriff’s Department shut down their party, the 18,000+ people in attendance lost it:

We’re told a storm was brewing on the outskirts of town with some wind and lightning, but no rain, which kept delaying KR’s show.

By the time 11 o’clock rolled around, lots of folks in the 18,000-strong audience were pretty drunk … and pissed because it seemed as if the storm had passed.

An officer from the Ward County Sheriff’s Department then walked up to the mic and announced the concert was canceled.

The crowd went berserk and turned the place upside down, throwing beer cans at the stage.

One guy climbed onto the stage and took a threatening stance before security tackled him.

Another man was handcuffed and led away by the police.

The North Dakota State Fair released a statement about the cancelation on their Twitter account saying that people should get refunds (they deserve those anyway, who spends money on Kid Rock?):

And Kid Rock also expressed his sadness over not being able to go on another drunken rant against Oprah Winfrey.

Here are some videos of the chaos:

And here’s a Twitter user who says he was there and claims that cops were macing people during the fray.

I mean, definitely, rioting is a rational reaction to not getting to hear such classics as Bawitaba and Redneck Paradise. The Sheriff’s Department also clarified on Facebook that they did not cancel the show, they only announced the show’s cancellation. I guess crossing Kid Rock fans is really bad in North Dakota? Remind me to never go to North Dakota. (via Fox29)

“The Sheriff’s Department would like to clarify to tonight’s concert fans that the decision to cancel the Kid Rock concert was not made by the Sheriff’s Department. The Sheriff simply announced the cancellation… We did not cancel the show.”

Kid Rock fans were understandably upset that a concert would be canceled over something as silly as “safety concerns.” Considering that Kid Rock straight up refuses to perform places with vaccine mandates against the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, his fans could not care less about their own safety! The fact somebody else is pushing their weather mandates on them?! SICKENING!
