Ben Affleck And Jennifer Lopez Reportedly Got Married In Vegas To Avoid Ben Getting “Cold Feet” And Are Planning A Bigger Celebration In Georgia

Come on, now. Did you really think Jennifer Lopez was going to let all the attention and buzz of Bennifer 2.0 crescendo with her standing in line with a bunch of normies, in a MUNICIPAL building, followed by a quickie ceremony with only one costume change in the same venue Joe Jonas was married in? Are you new? No, there’s no way the newly minted Jenny Lynn Affleck doesn’t already have the perfect picture frame picked out (and linked in her On The JLo newsletter, no doubt) for her and Ben Affleck’s inevitable People Magazine wedding extravaganza cover. Sources tell said People that the most remarked upon bride and groom of the 21st century “plan on having a bigger party so they can celebrate with family and friends,” now that Jenny Lynn locked that shit down before Ben could get cold feet. And that’s not (just) me being shady, a source tells Page Six that their Vegas wedding was “very, very minimally planned in advance and was largely spur-of-the-moment” for just that reason. I guess all that Dunkin’ cold brew collects in Ben’s extremities.

In case you weren’t woken up last week by an ear-splitting Emerald Alert (you can sign up for them in the newsletter) letting you know Bennifer 2.0 had finished its system update, Ben and Jenny Lynn had had “the best night of [their] lives” and were officially married at A Little White Chapel in Las Vegas surrounded by “[her] kids,” according to Jenny Lynn’s newsletter. However, Page Six reports that the only one of Jenny’s kids, 14-year-old Emme, and one of Ben’s, 13-year-old Sera, were able to beat the clock ticking on Ben’s frigid digits.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are still on cloud nine after their surprise wedding in Las Vegas.

The lovebirds celebrated, Page Six is told, with pizza and Diet Coke on a private jet back to LA in the early hours of Sunday.

And while J.Lo posted on her OnTheJLo newsletter Sunday that they were joined by their kids at the shock nuptials at a drive-through wedding chapel, Page Six is told that the only ones in attendance were Lopez’s child, Emme, 14, and Affleck’s Sera, 13.

They have five kids in total between them. Emme has a twin brother, Max, and Affleck also shares Violet, 16, and Sam, 10, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

Ben’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner was in Lake Tahoe at the time and apparently has chosen not to subscribe to receive Emerald Alert messages from the couple.

“Ben did tell Jen about the wedding, but I’m told that it was only Friday at the earliest. It was very, very minimally planned in advance and was largely spur-of-the-moment. Violet stayed home because she’s extremely loyal to her mom,” one well-placed Hollywood source told The Post.

As for why now, the Hollywood source added: “[Lopez] has been ready to get married since the night that Ben proposed. She wanted to lock this down and remove any chance for cold feet ASAP!”

In her newsletter, Jenny Lynn wrote “It turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,” but I guess even love has its limits when it comes to getting Ben in a tuxedo. And according to Elle, he doesn’t have much time to get his steamed for the next ceremony which will be popping off “in the next few weeks” at Ben’s “faux plantation house,” dubbed “The Big Housein real estate listings, which is located in Georgia, Ben’s slave-owning ancestral home. According to Elle:

Multiple sources close to the couple tell the outlet Affleck is hosting the party “in the next few weeks” at a home he owns in “the coastal town of Riceboro, Georgia.” Guests will include family members, close friends, and some celebrity pals too, the sources said. Lopez was at the home with her manager party planning a couple weeks ago, the outlet added, and Affleck was believed to be there, too.

No clues as to which celebrity guests will be honored with an Evite, but I have a feeling that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are gonna have to skip this one. According to Gawker:

The Riceboro mansion is an interesting location to mark such a sacred occasion. Affleck originally bought the 87-acre property back in 2003, just before he and Lopez called off their first engagement. Since then, he’s spent time there with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner and his most recent ex-girlfriend Ana de Armas. He’s also been trying to sell it since 2018 with little success.

It seems that in 2022, there may no longer be a market for this, hm, unique property, which was built as a “remarkable imitation” of a plantation. In real estate marketing materials, the primary mansion on the property is literally referred to as “The Big House,” just like it would have been in antebellum times.

Oh, so that’s why she’s calling herself Jenny Lynn now. She’s probably gunning for a Super Bowl Halftime show double feature with Britney Spears next year.
