A New Book Claims That THE QUEEN Was “Relieved” That Meghan Markle Skipped Prince Philip’s Funeral

There’s a new book coming out this week called Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors from writer of many unauthorized biographies Tom Bower who also writes about the royals often. And well, Tom may have to take a break from using his typing fingers to write about the royals to use his typing fingers to find a lawyer to possibly defend him from the mega wave of cease and desists that Meghan Markle’s lawyers may drown him in. Because in his book, Tom makes all kinds of claims about Meghan Markle’s short time as a working royal and her relationships with the royal family, including the little rumor that THE QUEEN proclaimed, “Thank goodness!”, after finding out that Meghan wasn’t going to make the trip to England for Prince Philip’s funeral. Maybe Tom’s source got it wrong. Maybe THE QUEEN wasn’t giving thanks for Meghan not going to her husband’s funeral. Maybe right after she got the Meghan news, another aide let her know that they were able to rent a gin fountain for the funeral reception and THE QUEEN was giving thanks to that since she needed more than a few cups of the sweet nectar to deal with her family and favorite son.

Prince Philip’s funeral was held on April 17, 2021, and at the time, Meghan Markle was 7 months pregnant with her second child Lilibet and was told by doctors to stay her ass at home in California. And Philip’s funeral was covered in a cloud of DRAMA from all the stories of Harry and Meghan fighting with the royals. So Tom Bower writes that when THE QUEEN found out that only Harry was going to make the trip for his pepaw’s funeral and Meghan was sitting it out, she let out a royal sigh of relief. via The Sunday Times (via Marie Claire):

British journalist Tom Bower alleges in Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between The Windsors that the Queen was “relieved” when she found out her daughter-in-law was not planning on coming to the service.

“‘Thank goodness Meghan is not coming,’” the Queen said in a clear voice to her trusted aides,” Bower alleges in his book. While we don’t have confirmation, it’s possible the Queen did not want the added attention that the Duchess of Sussex’s presence would likely bring. Ever since Meghan and Prince Harry stepped down from their duties as senior royals, there has been drama within the royal family.

Whoever those “trusted aides” are, THE QUEEN can’t trust them anymore. I don’t know if I can really picture THE QUEEN breaking down her walls of restraint to let everyone know that she was grateful Meghan wasn’t going to the funeral. But I’m surprised that Tom Bower didn’t add that after THE QUEEN declared, “Thank goodness…“, she said, “Hit it!“, to her Corgis who played Celebration on a boombox as she twerked with joy.

Tom’s book also goes back to Meghan’s 2017 Vanity Fair cover which had the words “She’s Just Wild About Harry!” on it. Meghan talked about her love with Harry during the interview even though she was apparently told by Harry’s PR people to not talk about him, Trump, and race. But she did talk about Harry and when Vanity Fair focused on that instead of her philanthropy work, she got pissed. via Page Six:

But when the magazine used the headline “She’s Just Wild About Harry,” and did not focus on her work as an activist and philanthropist, Buckingham Palace balked — and Meghan was furious with her US public relations company, Sunshine Sachs, according to excerpts from the book published by The Times of London Saturday.

“Sunshine Sachs had demanded that the magazine satisfy Meghan’s requirement that she be presented as a philanthropist and activist, without considering one problem: Vanity Fair’s scrupulous researchers could find no evidence of her global philanthropy and activism,” writes Bower.

But when Vanity Fair contributing editor Sam Kashner, who confessed he had never heard of Meghan or “Suits,” asked Meghan about her relationship with Harry, she replied, “We’re a couple. We’re in love.”

‘I’m sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time.” Markle said in the article.

The interview was “like a thunderclap,” writes Bower. “the interview triggered sensational reactions: Meghan had used her relationship with Harry to promote herself. The Hollywoodisation of the royal family had sealed Meghan’s fate as Harry’s fiancée.”

If there’s one person besides Meghan Markle who is probably raging over this book, it’s Samantha Markle. Because her book The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister, Part One is supposed to be THEE anti-Meghan Markle bible and now Tom here has shamelessly snatched that title from her.
