Ricky Martin’s Attorney Denies The Accusations That He Had A Sexual And Abusive Relationship With His Nephew

So…are you having a great day today? If you are, then you probably didn’t read last night about how the domestic violence allegations against 50-year-old Ricky Martin in Puerto Rico took a sharp turn down WTF Way when it was revealed that his accuser is his 21-year-old nephew. Ricky is facing accusations that he was in a sexual and abusive relationship with his nephew for months and when it ended, Ricky got even crazier and stalked his nephew. Through his lawyer, Ricky is denying the allegations and calling them “disgusting.” We go-sign that “disgusting” comment, Ricky’s lawyer.

Ricky has been facing a slew of legal troubles this year. First, he was sued by his former manager who commented that she protected her client from “reckless indiscretions” and a “career-ending allegation.” We got no further information, so “career-ending allegation” could’ve meant that he lip-synced all his songs a la Milli Vanilli. The trainwreck continued when earlier this month, Ricky was hit with domestic abuse charges and a restraining order. It was rumored that the charge came from a person who was in a 7-month relationship that recently ended. Ricky has been married to Jwan Yosef since 2017. While the stalking and abuse allegations are already horrible, this is when the story becomes even worse. Spanish media outlet Marca reported that Eric Martin, Ricky’s brother, identified the victim as Ricky’s 21-year-old nephew (I will NOT get used to writing this). This puts a whole new spin on the charges as Ricky could face 50 years in prison due to Puerto Rico’s laws around incest (I will definitely NOT get used to writing this!). Now Mr. Living La Vida Loca is trying to put the kibosh on the story and claims that his nephew is suffering from mental health issues. via People:

“Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges. Ricky Martin has, of course, never been — and would never be — involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew,” Marty Singer, attorney for the Puerto Rican singer, told PEOPLE exclusively in a statement.

He continued, “The idea is not only untrue, it is disgusting. We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs. But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts.”

For all our sakes, this whole thing better not be true! Ricky hasn’t commented much on the disaster, apart from releasing a statement about the original order:

A lot has happened since Independence Day! If you take a look at the rest of his social media, he’s been promoting his new 6-song album which was unveiled on July 13th. Methinks his team rushed the release? Six songs are about the amount I can sing in the shower. I’m sorry, but a Ricky Martin album launch is not enough to distract the populace from this truly fucked up news. Ricky will face trial on July 21st, and I sincerely hope this does not turn into social media’s new legal fascination now that that other trial is over. I do NOT want to hear what some fashion TikToker has to say about Puerto Rico’s incest laws.
