Britney Spears Delivers An Acoustic Version Of “…Baby One More Time” On Instagram
A few days ago, Team Brit Brit got a win when a judge ordered that her father and ex-conservator, Jamie Spears, must answer to the allegations of thievery and spying against him during a deposition after he was dodging that shit like it was a pot of Velveeta-free grits. Britney Spears may have been in a mood to celebrate because she took to the Instagram stage to yodel out an acapella version of her biggest hit …Baby One More Time. While listening to it, my ears searched everywhere for a hint of auto-tune and found nothing. Brit Brit’s voice is barebacking it! And somewhere, auto-tune is lying in a puddle of sadness on the floor while texting T-Pain and will.i.am with, “U still love me, right?”
In the caption of Brit Brit’s IG post, which has two sangin’ videos in it, she writes that she was doing laundry when she was struck with the urge to yodel on the raw. So she gifted her fans with LowRegisterney with her acoustic version of ..Baby. She says that she’s been wanting to do a grown-up version of the song, which came out in 1998, for 14 years but the powers-that-be muzzled her. They wouldn’t let Britney do what she wanted with her own songs, and instead let her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, butcher one of her songs during a tribute to her at the 2017 Radio Disney Awards and that pissed her off (and it’s something she’s gotten into before).
Well I have asked for what I wanted for 14 years … a different version of “Baby” but have the producers actually work for me and put it together 🎵 … a start … but as the TEAM said NO and serves me with 4 girls, my sister included, doing a 5 minute version of 4 remixed songs 🎥 to a T not even having to give effort or dance 💃🏼 … just shot it beautifully and the sound was NEW !!! They ruined it for me, embarrassed me and made me feel like absolutely nothing🙄🙄🙄 !!! The truth is a fucking bitch !!! I share this because I am aware of my love and passion to sing … and my own family made a fool of me 😔 … I’m not going to be a victim !!!
Britney also had a note for those judging her natural singing voice.
Here is Brit Brit’s sultry slow jam version of ..Baby and the videos are haunting in many ways from her deep yodeling to the colored light bulb show in the background to the only white light coming from the laundry room to her making me reach for that Dramamine with all that swaying.
As Brit Brit says in her caption, her team fucking her over ruined her dreams of recording an updated ...Baby, but she also said last year that she’s working on new music.
