Bonnie Closier, the dog who went missing from her home and later turned up as the third place winner of a local dog contest!

Meet Bonnie Closier, an adorable drop of sweetness with gorgeous eye globes that shoot directly into your soul’s soul. So because of Bonnie’s immense natural beauty, you won’t be hit with a feeling of shock from hearing that she won a ribbon in a local dog contest. And Bonnie won it without even trying. That’s how POWERFUL (PAWERFUL?) her beauty is!

Bonnie Closier is a 5-year-old Beagle mix who lives with her human, Paula Closier, in Bolney, West Sussex in England. The BBC says that Bonnie wandered away from her home and went missing. And as Paula Closier screamed for James Bond to drop from the sky and help her find her beloved pooch, Bonnie was on the side of a road somewhere getting picked up by a man named John Wilmer. When you hear a story about a little lady getting picked up on the side of the road by a strange man, the Dateline NBC theme song may start playing in your head. But thankfully, John Wilmer isn’t evil and he was actually on his way to the Felbridge dog contest. And since Bonnie looks like she was practically born to wear a stunning tiara and silk sash, John brought her along.

John says that another reason why he brought Bonnie, along with his others dogs, to Felbridge was that he was in a rush. John said that before he took Bonnie to the show, he left a message on Facebook that he had found her. Paula’s family had already posted about Bonnie on Facebook. So John entered Bonnie into the rescue dog category and she came in third place. So when Paula was reunited with Bonnie, she was reunited with an award winner, thankyouverymuch!

Her relieved owner, Paula Closier, said: “We’re so thrilled she’s safe and well and also a winner. You couldn’t make this stuff up.”

She added: “We were frantic as we live right by a main road. Bonnie used to be a street dog and we were so worried she wouldn’t have known to come back.”

And here’s the award-winning Queen of Bolney lounging in all her regal glory:

A dog running away and coming back home as a contest winner sounds like the kind of Made-For-Netflix movie I’d instantly click on. But I bet that Bonnie was a little bit different when she came home. I mean, when Paula served her a welcome meal of kibble, Bonnie probably sniffed at it in disgust before using her dazzling eye domes to throw a look that clearly said, “Err, this isn’t filet mignon. You do know I’m a certified contest winner now, right?!
