Rihanna Has Unseated Kylie Jenner As America’s Youngest Self-Made Female Billionaire, According To Forbes

Thanks to a variety of business ventures including music (well, sometimes), makeup, skincare, and underwear, 34-year-old Rihanna is very rich. So no one should be shocked that once again, Forbes has declared Rihanna to be a very rich person. Except in this particular case, they’re also knocking very rich person, 23-year-old  Kylie Jenner, down a peg, by officially crowning Rihanna as the youngest self-made American female billionaire. Sorry, Kylie! But don’t worry, it looks like you’ll always retain your title of Richest Child of Kris Jenner Named Kylie.

For two years in a row, Kylie Jenner was named by Forbes as the youngest “self-made” billionaire in the world, which of course was a claim that came with a heavy dose of side-eye, of course. Eventually, Forbes came around to the idea that Kylie might not be as rich as her accounting team had been claiming, but that didn’t stop Forbes from dropping Kylie’s name onto any number of wealthy people wealth lists in the future. And so of course, Kylie is on this year’s list of America’s self-made women, she’s just not up as high as she’d normally find herself and Rihanna placed higher than her. Rihanna is #21 on the list while Kylie is at #41. via CNBC:

The youngest self-made billionaire woman in the U.S. didn’t grow up in a Manhattan high rise or the Hollywood Hills. Instead, Rihanna amassed her fortune from her own music and entrepreneurial ventures.

Recently, the 34-year-old singer and Fenty Beauty CEO graced Forbes’ annual list of America’s richest self-made women for the third year in a row. She ranked 21st overall, and is the list’s only billionaire under age 40. Some of Rihanna’s $1.4 billion net worth is from her successful music career. Most of it is from her three retail companies: Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin and Savage X Fenty.

The youngest self-made billionaire woman in the U.S. didn’t technically grow up in the U.S. either. Rihanna still holds Barbadian citizenship, but she’s been a permanent resident of the United States for nearly two decades now. And since her businesses are registered in the U.S., she’s classified as an American billionaire. Rihanna made her debut on Forbes’ annual billionaires list earlier this year, and now she’s making the American self-made women list. The top ten of Forbes’ list of self-made women includes a roofing billionaire from Wisconsin named Diane Hendricks (with $12.2 billion), followed by a variety of business types, and then the #10 spot is occupied by Oprah Winfrey. Kim Kardashian holds the #16 spot, with an estimated fortune of $1.8 billion.

The next youngest self-made American billionaire after Rihanna is a 32-year-old dating app billionaire named Whitney Wolfe Herd, whose net worth is an estimated $740 million. After Whitney is Kylie Jenner with $600 million.

Rihanna has never seemed like the type to give a shit about wealth rankings. And she certainly wouldn’t appreciate the exact amount of her rumored net worth being out there for all to see. Now that her fans know she’s reportedly worth $1.4 billion, they’re going to be demanding that new album even harder than before. With $1.4 billion to her name, I’m pretty sure she can more than afford to rent some time at a recording studio and pay to have someone work the booth.
