Travis Barker Has Provided An Update On His Health Situation, And He Says He’s Doing Okay

Last week, a very scary thing happened to Travis Barker, which is saying something, considering the man notably survived a horrific multi-fatality plane crash in 2008. The Gomez to Kourtney Kardashian’s gated community Morticia was rushed to the hospital for an undisclosed reason. Later, we learned that Travis’ trip to the ER was reportedly caused by a case of pancreatitis, which was allegedly the result of a colonoscopy gone wrong (or at least, gone not 100% right). Enough time has passed that Travis feels comfortable speaking about the situation, and he says that everything is alright.

Travis was originally taken to one medical facility last week, where doctors determined he needed a whole lot more intensive care, and had him zipped away to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. It was serious enough for his daughter Alabama Barker to beg for prayers on TikTok. Travis posted a health update, via a recent Instagram Story, and the internet speculation about his health was correct. Well, sort of. The pancreas part was. But it was actually an endoscopy, not a colonoscopy (so, a camera due south in the mouth vs. the rumored pooper snooper). Travis says that while the camera was poking around, a polyp was found and was removed. Pretty routine stuff. Except that after he got home from his procedure, his body let him know that something was very, very wrong, and that’s when he was taken back to the hospital. via People magazine:

“I went in for an endoscopy Monday feeling great,” he recounted on his Instagram Story. “But after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since.”

“During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe life-threatening pancreatitis. I am so very very grateful that with intensive treatment, I am currently much better,” Barker added.

Kourtney addressed the situation in her own Instagram Story, saying that both of them were so “touched and appreciative” of all the love and support they received after Travis’ health scare went viral. via People:

“Oh what a scary and emotional week it has been. Our health is everything and sometimes we take for granted how quickly it can change. Travis and I went in for a routine endoscopy together and he ended up with severe, life-threatening pancreatitis.”

The Poosh founder added that she’s “so grateful to God for healing my husband,” as well as to their fans’ prayers and the specialists, doctors and nurses at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles “for taking such wonderful care” of them. “It’s crazy how sometimes words could never truly express the gratitude or feelings I have inside of me.”

Travis must be feeling a whole hell of a lot better, because TMZ notes that he was seen out for a joy ride on the 4th of July in a vintage orange truck with Kourtney and her two kids, Penelope and Reign Disick. Okay, forget what I said about Gomez and Morticia. In that tangerine Ford throwback, Kourtney and Travis are giving Skate Park Bo and Luke Duke.

Kourtney is probably a little disappointed that Travis cleared the air so soon after all that hospital drama. Travis is part of the family now and he could have teased out the ambiguity for at least as long as it took to get some cameras set up to film a very special episode of The Kardashians. I mean, he didn’t even wait long enough for Kim and Khloé to piggyback on the attention by posting some vague Tweets about life being precious or how nothing matters but family. I honestly thought that would have been a key piece in their wedding vows, but I guess not.
