Open Post: Hosted By The Sweet Moment Between Keanu Reeves And A Young Fan That Went Viral
After a rough couple of weeks (centuries?) for America, it’s comforting to at least be able to count on our kindly Canadian prince, Keanu Reeves, to continue his inadvertent quest to deliver us truly wholesome content to help restore some faith in humanity. Keanu has won over the cold hearts of many an icy betch by doing things like keeping his hands to himself, taking fellow stranded plane passengers on a Bakersfield bus tour, having a significant other that’s his own age (in Hollywood in 2022?!), and looking melancholy while eating ice cream in solitude at a Baskin Robbins (after leaving a great tip, of course). This time, Keanu once again proved that he’s a kind, patient, thoughtful soul after a moment with a young fan in the airport baggage claim ended up going viral.
A tweet thread about “The Internet’s Boyfriend“/star of The Matrix franchise started making the rounds on Monday after TV producer, Andrew Kimmel, shared Keanu’s exchange with a young fan who seemed to have a lot of time and questions on his hands. via ET Canada:
TV producer Andrew Kimmel wrote in a thread that Reeves was on his flight from London to New York, and he was approached by a fan at the baggage collection for an autograph. When the young fan began asking the actor a series of “rapid-fire questions,” he “happily responded to every single one.”…The kid asked about everything from Reeves’ trip to the British Grand Prix over the weekend, how long he was going to be in New York, and which Broadway show he was planning to see.
Here’s the thread:
Kid: Why were you in London?
KR: Filming a documentary.
Kid: I saw online you were at the Grand Prix (pronouncing the x)
KR: Yes, the Grand Prix (in a French accent, without correcting him). F1! Race cars!
Kid: Do you drive?
KR: Not F1, but I like riding motorcycles.

Kid: Do you live in NY?
KR: I live in LA.
Kid: How long are you gonna be in New York?
KR: Four days! No… five. Five days!
Kid: Why are you in NY?
KR: Gonna see a broadway show!

Kid: What broadway show?
KR: American Buffalo! Mamet!Kid: Where are you staying in NY?
KR: Midtown!By this time the kid was running out of questions, so Keanu started grilling him 🤣 Why were you in Europe? What galleries did you go to in Paris? What was your favorite?

The man could not have been nicer, especially after an international flight. I thought I’d share this because the dude is a class act and little moments like this can make such a big difference in people’s lives. We need more Keanus!

And yes, I geeked out a little and asked for a photo. I mean… had to. Have a happy 4th everyone! pic.twitter.com/JVR5VTPQHz

Damn, move over Bawbwa Walters, 20/20 needs to hire this kid, because if I ever found myself face-to-face with Keanu, my tongue would most likely melt out of my face rendering me useless, but this budding journalist pulled off a seasoned, extemporaneous interview in the baggage grab. Also, a huge amount of respect to Keanu for keeping his composure and then even caring enough to ask the fan questions in return after probably just wanting to get the fuck out of there after a long international flight. Sometimes, I’m not even that nice to my own kids when they pepper me with questions that are none of their gat-damn business. As it usually does when Keanu does something adorable, the internet fawned, calling him a class act for keeping the conversation going, being pleased that he was masked during the encounter, and declaring him undefeated at being awesome. Can we please trade some questionably-off MGK or soggily self-promoting KarJenner encounters for more delightful Keanu ones? These are desperate times and we are in dire need.
