Miles Teller’s Grandmother Thinks He Should Be The Next James Bond

It’s 100% false and untrue that Miles Teller has a face that only a mother could resist wanting to punch. For example, Mile’s granny Leona “Mup” Flowers thinks the sun rises and sets with every twinkle of his eye, and that the tides are tied to each douchey smirk that slides across his face. According to Mup, there’s nothing Miles can’t do, including a believable British accent. Us Weekly reports that Mup hopped on Twitter this week to suggest that her grandson would be the perfect actor to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond. Can’t you just picture it? No really, try. “The names Jim. Jim Bond. But you can call me Highball, that’s what my frat brothers call me. I’ll have a Bud Lite, shaken not stirred. No glass, I’m gonna shotgun it.” Swap the tuxedo for a Tommy Bahama shirt and I do believe that Mup might be onto something. Sorry, typo. On something.

With the box office success of Top Gun: Maverick, I suppose there’s no denying that Miles is a big star now. Big enough that he can probably have his pick of any number of high-profile roles. But Miles is still woefully, tragically, embarrassingly American. But according to Mup, so what. According to Us Weekly:

Listen to your elders! Miles Teller’s grandma thinks her grandson can do anything — including becoming the next 007!

“They’re looking for an actor to replace Daniel Craig for future 007 movies,” Leona Flowers, also known as Mup, tweeted on Wednesday, June 30. “I think my grandson, Miles Teller, has proven that he has everything they’re looking for – talent, looks, strength, worldwide appeal & oh, so cool. He can be that guy!! Wouldn’t he be great?”

Flowers, who has over 5,000 followers on the social media platform, fiercely defended the 35-year-old’s acting talents when fans questioned if Teller would be right for the role. When one user commented, “If he was from Great Britain I would agree,” Mup replied, “He could make you think he was.”

The author went on to point out that “lots of Europeans have played Americans,” adding that Teller, who is of Scottish decent and “studied acting which includes accents,” is “very proud of his genetic connection” to the British Isles.

I’ll have what she’s having! Mup sounds like the kind of granny that wouldn’t hesitate for a second to tape her grandson’s darkly disturbing drawing of severed heads and devils with blacked-out eyes on her refrigerator instead of referring the child to the school psychologist. Bless her heart. You can’t tell her anything.

By Mup’s account, Miles has got it all — The looks, the talent, the IQ, and a genetically dictated love of St Patrick’s day.

So, maybe she’s got a point. He’s got the talent, now the only thing Miles needs to slay as Bond is a little charisma, uniqueness, and nerve. And an upper lip, stiff or otherwise, wouldn’t hurt either.
