A Judge Ordered Britney Spears’ Wedding Crashing Ex-Husband Jason Alexander To Stay In Jail Until His Next Hearing

Britney Spears got married to Sam Asghari earlier this month, blessing us all with the wedding of the year? Summer? Maybe just June 9th? And although the wedding itself seemed pretty tame by celeb standards, there were chaotic events both in the lead-up to it and family drama aplenty after the fact. In case you aren’t caught up, one of the most notable pre-wedding events was Britney’s ex-husband of 55 hours, Jason Alexander, showing up armed with a boxcutter and Instagram Live-streaming himself entering her house without permission and eventually being apprehended by the police. Britney got a 3-year restraining order issued against him pretty much as soon as the last guest left the reception (my money is on Madonna, she looks like she likes to get wedding-sloppy and then have to be peeled off of the floor at the end of the night). On Monday, Jason had a preliminary hearing to answer to the charges and the judge ruled that he’ll be staying in the slammer for now.

According to Page Six, Jason pleaded not guilty to the charges against him: felony stalking, vandalism, trespassing, and battery. A couple of people close to the situation testified about what they witnessed that day.

A security guard named Richard Eubler was one of four people called to the stand Monday. Eubler testified that Alexander tried “multiple times” to open Spears’ locked bedroom door on the second floor of her Thousand Oaks, Calif., house while she was inside getting ready for her wedding on June 9. “I was just at the staircase, and that’s when he backed up and started reaching out of his right hand pocket,” Eubler said.

Not knowing what Alexander had in his hand, Eubler remembered reaching for his weapon. Eubler said Alexander then went into a game room and shut the door behind him, leaving him and Alexander inside. “He was just yelling for Britney,” the guard recalled. “He said, ‘F–k it. I’m going back inside the way I came.’”

The two struggled inside the game room, according to the testimony, leading Alexander to allegedly elbow and then punch Eubler as he tried to get back inside the main part of the home.

Eubler claimed the incident was not the first time that Spears’ ex has tried to enter the property.

According to another testimony, poor Britney, who’s been through the wringer and probably just wanted to do the Cha Cha Slide carefree and barefoot that day, was rightfully terrified.

Detective Dylan Foley of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department testified on Monday that he interviewed Spears’ talent manager after the ordeal, who told him the singer was “distraught, crying, shaking, panicked” and that she and Asghari left the property to “try to calm down.” Foley said he did not interview Spears directly.

Another witness, Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy Jose Torres testified that they confiscated a box cutter and other items from Alexander when he was arrested.

So because of all of this and also because 40-year-old Jason has a lengthy rap sheet of prior fuckery, the judge wasn’t willing to go easy on him. Jason’s bail is $100,000 and his next court date is set for July 12.

Alexander’s public defender argued that the felony stalking count against his client should be lessened to a misdemeanor because there was insufficient evidence that Alexander was there to harm Britney.

The judge, however, disagreed and decided to hold the Louisiana native on one count of felony stalking with a prior and a special enhancement that he was on probation or parole, and three misdemeanor counts of trespassing, vandalism and battery.

Alexander was initially charged with stalking, but the complaint was amended on Friday to felony stalking with a prior domestic violence conviction…the prior conviction involved an unrelated 2015 charge out of San Francisco where Alexander was convicted of corporal injury on a domestic/dating partner. Alexander also faces a special enhancement charge because he allegedly committed a crime while he was already on probation for an unrelated case out of Tennessee.

He’s racked up quite the collection of mugshots:

If ever someone (besides Britney’s entire immediate family) should take Cara Cunningham’s advice to “LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE” it’s Jason Alexander. 55 hours of marriage and 20 years of stress–first husbands, amirite? Maybe the new home Britney and Sam just moved into can give them a fresh start away from all of this. I hope it’s stocked with a custom Frapp machine and a suitable twirlin’ floor because this wedding is the gift that keeps on giving and she may need a suitable outlet to dance out her feelings for a while.
