Alec Baldwin Is Going To Interview Woody Allen On Instagram Live Tomorrow
Alec Baldwin is still facing lawsuits and an investigation into the accidental shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust. He’s been making genius PR moves like pushing blame for the shooting off of him and pushing onto Halyna Hutchins instead. And here comes another genius PR move from the genius mind of Alec Baldwin. He’s going to interview alleged sexual abuser, Woody Allen. I mean… it’s definitely a move–I don’t know if it’s a good one. Maybe he thinks he’ll look better by comparison? Maybe this will turn into a cross-examination? Doubtful, though.
Dylan Farrow has long maintained that Woody Allen sexually abused her as a child. Her mother, Mia Farrow, and brother, Ronan Farrow, both stand by her. But Woody–who married his other adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, when she was 21 and he was 56–has maintained that he did not abuse Dylan as a child. Dylan detailed the allegations in the HBO docuseries Allen vs. Farrow, which came out last year. Woody was invited to be interviewed for the doc but turned it down. I guess Woody was saving his thoughts for a more much PRESTIGIOUS platform like Alec Baldwin’s Instagram page. Because Variety says that Alec announced on Instagram last night that he will be having a sit down with Woody.
“Let me preface this by stating that I have ZERO INTEREST in anyone’s judgments and sanctimonious posts here. I am OBVIOUSLY someone who has my own set of beliefs and COULD NOT CARE LESS about anyone else’s speculation. If you believe that a trial should be conducted by way of an HBO documentary, that’s your issue.”
Alec goes on:
“This coming Tuesday… the 28th, the 28th I think. This coming Tuesday I’m doing an Instagram live at 10:30 Eastern time with…”
And then Alec held up a Woody Allen book for dramatic effect before saying:
“Tuesday the 28th 10:30 Eastern time I’m going to be doing an Instagram live with (whispers) Woody Allen. Who I love. I love you, Woody. Instagram live with Woody. Tuesday 10:30. Be there.”
Here’s Alec’s announcement if you need a reason to heave today:
I would be there, but I have other more enjoyable things to do, like pluck the hairs from my asshole one at a time with tweezers while squatting over a hand mirror. But I don’t understand this mess. The roadside press conference was bizarre enough but now he’s interviewing alleged child sex offenders on Instagram. Maybe Alec is just a delusional bag of cluelessness (that’s it) or maybe he’s gathering research for his new book: How To Be Really Fucking Bad At PR.
