Open Post: Hosted By Christopher Meloni’s Son Scoring Free Drinks At A Drag Bar For Being Christopher Meloni’s Son

In Christopher Meloni’s house, it’s always Zaddy’s Day, but he does observe the traditional Father’s Day as well, because – well, he’s an actual father and not just the internet’s collective source of thirst. And in honor of Father’s Day, and maybe also a little bit of Pride Month, Christopher decided to share a story about one of his kids using their dad’s name in the most practical way possible: by scoring free drinks at a drag bar.
Christopher has two kids, 21-year-old Sophia and 18-year-old Dante, and on Father’s Day he shared a text he received from one of his kids (he doesn’t say which one). According to the message, one of the Meloni children was at a drag bar on Friday evening, where their famous last name was noticed by the bartender who was examining their ID (since the legal drinking age in New York City is 21, it’s probably safe to assume this text came from his daughter Sophia). The Meloni spawn claimed that after they confirmed that yes, Christopher Meloni was their father, their genetic lottery win was extended once more by discovering that their drinks had been comped.

If you’re going to shamelessly engage in nepotism, getting free drinks while watching a drag queen belt out a club remix of Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” is the way to go. Especially during Pride Month at a drag bar, and especially when your dad is the owner of a pair of culturally revered ass cheeks. It’s an especially victimless crime! But personally, I don’t think that bartender did enough to verify the identity of the Meloni child’s father. I mean, Meloni is as common a surname as Jones or Smith! If I were that bartender, I would have asked for further proof. Like asking for a picture of Christopher Meloni holding today’s newspaper while doing squats in a pair of dryer-shrunk gym shorts to be sent to the bar’s ID verification hotline (aka my phone).
