Buckingham Palace Reportedly Buried The Results Of Meghan Markle’s Staff Bullying Investigation

June 21, 2022 / Posted by:

Last year, the definition of the word “suspicious” got a little update, when just a few days before CBS aired Oprah Winfrey’s tell-all interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, The Times published their own little exposé, in which several palace sources alleged that Meghan was a terror of a boss while she was still living in Kensignton Palace and working as a senior royal. Those in charge were reportedly so aghast at Meghan’s alleged bullying of her staff, that a full-scale investigation was reportedly launched into her behavior at the palace. That was back in March 2021, and here we are in June 2022. So where are the results of the investigation into Meghan Thee Hellion? Some of Meghan’s fans would like to know. Because according to them, the results of that investigation seem to have quickly disappeared.

The big allegation in The Times’ piece from 2021 was that in 2018, Harry and Meghan’s former communications secretary Jason Knauf filed a formal complaint against Meghan on behalf of several staffers. Jason claimed that Meghan “drove away” two personal assistants and traumatized a third. The report also included the claim by an anonymous staffer that they couldn’t stop shaking prior to a meeting with Meghan. And, numerous allegations that staff was “reduced to tears” after interacting with the Duchess of Sussex. Harry reportedly tried to convince Jason not to file the complaint, but Jason took it all the way to Prince William, which definitely sounds like high-level snitching, but wasn’t, considering Harry and William were still sharing an office and some staff members at the time. Meghan released a statement in response to The Times’ reporting, saying that it was just another instance of the kind of anti-Meghan character assassination that she was getting used to, while Buckingham Palace announced the beginning of their investigation.

I would have assumed that Buckingham Palace would have loved to have revealed those investigation results at a time when a little PR diversion was needed (essentially, any time Prince Andrew’s gag-triggering name pops up in the news). But for some reason, we’re only finding out the vaguest of details from that investigation, via some leaked documents. According to The Sunday Times, the alleged investigation resulted in policy and procedure changes for governing the treatment of monarchy staff. And that’s…pretty much all The Sunday Times has.

That of course has a whole bunch of people wondering why Buckingham Palace – who was just SO concerned with getting to the bottom of Meghan’s alleged behavior – seems like they’re now using that investigating report as a coaster in the tea room or wedged under a wobbly table leg in Queen Elizabeth’s jewel-polishing parlor. Naturally, some people believe they detect the stink of something fishy. via Deadline:

The findings of the alleged bullying report by an independent law firm, which was reportedly instituted and funded by Queen Elizabeth, have not been released. That has led to accusations that the report was “buried.”

Reports cited a spokesperson for Markle denying all claims of bullying, adding she was “saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself.”

Deadline notes that plenty of people on social media are pointing out that the timing of The Times’ release of the allegations, paired with the lack of the Palace’s findings, screams big anti-Meghan hater energy. Especially since the leaked results of the investigation only offered up a blanket statement about general improvement to staff policy. Additionally, there are people pointing out that the Meghan the Diva narrative really started after she got with Harry, and not before, like when she was working on Suits.

Meghan herself hasn’t released a statement regarding this maybe-MIA investigation, and neither has Buckingham Palace. All I know for sure is that if there was conclusive evidence that Meghan was pulling some The Devil Wears Custom-Made Dior on her staff, it would be front-page news for years in the UK. Actually, for the first week or so, every headline in the British press would just be, “HJFHDKSHFJKWEHJKWHKFDKS” because every editor’s brains would be short-circuiting from the sheer overwhelming joy they were feeling.
