Kanye West Claims Adidas Ripped Off His Yeezy Design For Their Adilette Slides
In You Cannot Be Serious-News, Kanye West is calling out Adidas over some slides that they released which he says are a blatant copy of his incredibly thoroughly-designed Yeezy slides that look like *checks notes* if LEGO feet were larger.
Billboard says that Kanye West hopped onto Instagram and called out Adidas and their $55 Adilette 22 sandals. Which could actually cost you like $5 if you instead bought some foam from a dollar store and carved that shit up–it will look exactly the same. But as far as Kanye is concerned, the shoes are a clear rip-off of his $70 Yeezy slides, which also happen to be produced by Adidas. This must really piss off Kanye since in 2020 Yeezy slides reportedly sold $1.7 billion of shit, and Kanye reportedly made $191 million in royalties from it. I wonder how much royalties Claire’s makes when they sell the same slip-on shoes in girly neon colors each summer?
In Kanye’s caption, he calls out Adidas CEO Kasper Rørsted by name and says he’s “not standing for this blatant copying no more.”
“To all sneaker culture To every ball player rapper or even if you work at the store This is for everyone who wants to express themselves but feel they can’t cause they’ll loose their contract or be called crazy.”
“These shoes represent the disrespect that people in power have to the talent,” he concluded. “This shoe is a fake Yeezy made by Adidas themselves I’m not talking to DC about this either Kasper come talk to me Happy Monday.”
Here’s Kanye’s post and a side-by-side comparison of these ugly slippers:

I hope that Kanye West is ready for this call-out game to start because he’s been accused of ripping ideas off other people also–like how he allegedly ripped off the design for some DONDA merch or like how his GAP collaboration is clearly a rip-off of the iconic blue IKEA bag. IKEA needs to post their own Instagram call out, like “Hey Kanye, how about you stop ripping off our FRAKTA Shopping Bag before you complain?”
