Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Shared A New Photo Of Lilibet Diana On Her First Birthday

New Lilibet just dropped! On the occasion of her first birthday, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have released a photo of THE QUEEN’s nicknamesake, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. People reports that the “candid, spontaneous photograph” was taken by a “close family friend and guest,” on Saturday as Lililbet sat on the grass at Frogmore Cottage during a “casual, intimate backyard picnic.” It’s pretty impressive for a casual snap taken at a party until you learn that the “close family friend” is noted fashion Sussex photographer Misan Harriman who previously shot the couple for their Lilibet pregnancy announcement. This explains why there’s no thumb in the frame and Lilibet isn’t covered in boogers and frosting.

Here’s Lilibet’s portrait. Looks like she’s inherited her dad’s red hair so we can put those rumors that Meghan has been having a decades-long affair with Howie Mandel to bed, once and for all.

This is only the second photo we’ve seen of Lilibet. Previously we’d only seen her in profile as she appeared on the Sussexs’ Christmas card last year, leaving some to speculate that Lilibet might one day grow up to haunt an opera house. People reports:

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are celebrating their daughter Lilibet’s first birthday with the release of an adorable new photo.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex invited close friends and family to gather for a “casual, intimate backyard picnic” on Saturday at their Frogmore Cottage home, a spokesperson for the couple shared on Monday.

In the sweet photo, Lili smiles as she plays in the yard of her family’s home. She wears a blue dress and a white lace bow in her red hair — which she inherited from dad Harry!

Close family friend and guest Misan Harriman who attended Lilibet’s party with his wife and children took the “candid, spontaneous photograph that the Duke and Duchess are pleased to share today,” the spokesperson added.

While Lilibet might not technically be a princess, she does have to suffer many of the same indignities modern princesses are subject to, like all her guests being asked to make a donation in lieu of gifts.

Harry and Meghan “remain incredibly touched by the countless birthday wishes for their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor,” the couple’s spokesperson said.

They were “amazed to learn that people around the world made donations” amounting to over $100K to the World Central Kitchen (WCK) in her honor,” the spokesperson continued, adding that the couple “extended their gratitude to all who have shown support for the organization, which is especially near to their hearts.”

Like, what in the Christina Crawford?! Lilibet didn’t even get to have pony rides at her party, and her great-grandmother is THE QUEEN! Instead, they seem to have hired big brother Archie to do face painting. His prospects of becoming a working royal are grim so the kid’s got to earn a living somehow.

Lilibet’s party was followed later that evening by The Platinum Party at the Palace which Meghan, Harry, and The Queen all skipped. In fact, other than a peek-a-boo appearance at Trooping the Colour, the National Service of Thanksgiving event was the only Jubilee event the Sussexes attended. It seems Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson weren’t the only Americans to fly all the way to London in the hopes that Liz might do them a solid. The Daily Beast reports that Meghan and Harry were denied the opportunity to get a picture of Lilibet with The Queen.

The queen’s enforcers reportedly told Harry and Meghan “no chance” when the couple asked for a photograph of the monarch meeting their child Lilibet for the first time.

The Sun reported that while the queen met Harry and Meghan’s daughter on Thursday, when they were briefly in the U.K. for the jubilee, no photos of the meeting were taken.

The Daily Beast previously reported that sources had said it was highly unlikely that any such image would be issued.

The Sun quoted a source as saying the royals were nervous about a photograph of the encounter being snapped in case it ended up on U.S. TV networks.

An insider told the newspaper: “Harry and Meghan wanted their photographer to capture the moment Lilibet met the queen.

“But they were told no chance. It was a private family meeting.”

A source tells The New York Post that the above report isn’t correct and Harry never asked his grandma for a pic with his daughter. But The DB says that tensions are a Lilibet strained between The Sussexes and The Queen because they didn’t get permission from her before using the name. Had Harry and Meghan worked a little smarter, they probably could have gotten Kim K to snap a sneaky pic of Lilibet meeting Biggerbet from behind whatever urn or ficus she was probably hiding behind all weekend trying to get covert footage for her own reality television show.
