Married Matthew Morrison Reportedly Got Fired From “So You Think You Can Dance” Because Of “Flirty” Messages He Sent To A Contestant

Matthew Morrison was cast as a judge in the 17th season of Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance, but now he’s out after announcing that he had “broken production protocols.” While rumors circled about why Matthew lost the gig, now we have a reported answer. Matthew, who is married to Renee Puente, was allegedly flirting with one of the contestants in the DMs. The lines between Matthew Morrison and Mr. Schue continue to be every kind of BLURRY.

The 17th season of SYTYCD is once again hosted by Cat Deeley and the judges include JoJo Siwa and Stephen “tWitch” Boss–who replaced OGs Nigel Lythgoe and human train horn, Mary Murphy. Matthew WAS a judge too. Since the show’s first episodes are pre-taped, Matthew’s face will make an appearance for a couple more weeks. But then he’s out and is going to be replaced. The reason is that Matthew tried to get with a contestant.

43-year-old Matthew has been married to 37-year-old Renee since 2014 and they have two children together. But I guess he forgot all about that after seeing one unnamed contestant dancing and twirling and catching the stage lights. He tried to get her to catch his dick instead, via People:

A source close to the Fox reality show tells PEOPLE that Morrison was fired from the series “after he had an inappropriate relationship with a female contestant.”

“They didn’t have sex, but he reached out to her through flirty direct messages on social media,” the source says. “She felt uncomfortable with his line of comments and went to producers, who then got Fox involved. He was fired after they did their own investigation.”

The source adds that Morrison and the unidentified female contestant “never met up off-set.”

“It was just messages that crossed the line,” the source notes.

Reps for Morrison and Fox did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Some think that Renee has sort of responded to this by not responding; posting to Instagram an artsy photo with a caption about how you should “Nurture yourself by first SLOWING DOWN, taking a DEEP BREATH, and asking yourself a few questions to GAIN CLARITY on your situation. How do I feel in my body? What is consuming my mind?” Consuming her mind? Probably how her husband ain’t shit.

I wonder how the conversations are going in this household. I imagine Matthew is saying something like, “Come on, baby, it’s not like I actually cheated–they fired me before I could!”
