Open Post: Hosted By Jamie Lee Curtis Officiating Her Daughter’s Cosplay Wedding

On Saturday Jamie Lee Curtis took some time off from shit-talking Doctor Strange and all other movies that aren’t Everything Everywhere All At Once to officiate her daughter’s backyard cosplay wedding. 26-year-old Ruby Guest and new wife Kynthia said “I do” dressed up as video game characters; Ruby was Squigly from Skull Girls and Kynthia was Elphelt Valentine from Guilty Gear. 62-year-old Jamie Lee cosplayed as Jaina Proudmoore from World of Warcraft. I have no idea who any of these characters are, but, somewhere, my video game-addicted ex probably jizzed his pants at the mere mention of their names.

Jamie posted the above picture on her Instagram with the caption: WIFE IS SWEET! Ruby and Kynthia 5/29/2022“. Guests were encouraged to dress up in the World of Warcraft theme. This photo shows Ruby and Kynthia attempting to kiss (listen, those costumes were pretty bulky) and you can see people in the background dressed up as Jessie and Woody from Toy Story and “wedding guest in 2022” characters:

Jamie Lee also managed to sneak in a little promo for her upcoming movie, Halloween Ends (wait, didn’t we just have a Halloween sequel?):

Ruby is Jamie Lee and Christopher Guest’s youngest daughter. She came out as trans in 2020 and works as a video editor for a gaming YouTuber. The couple’s eldest daughter, Annie, 35, also got married in the family’s backyard back in 2019.

You know, I’d joke about this being the nerdiest wedding of all time, but, as someone who had a framed photo of Spike and Giles (this one) from Buffy the Vampire Slayer on her bedside table all through high school, I don’t have a leg to stand on. Congratulations, Ruby and Kynthia!
