Jodie Foster Will Star In Season 4 Of “True Detective”

Back when season three of True Detective was announced I likened True Dick to a lover who came on strong then ghosted me for a year only to come crawling back talking about baby, I’ve changed so I gave it a second chance and got burned. Badly. Like last gasp Vince Vaughn not even Colin Farrel can save this bad. Then the bitch came sniffing around again a couple of years later and to my surprise was looking GOOT! Like Mahershala Ali before he ever saw the script for Green Book good. So I caved and gave it another chance to break my heart when they invited Stephen Dorf and a bevy of tragic wigs into our bed. So I’d be a fucking fool to entertain the thought of letting the recently announced fourth season of True Detective get anywhere near my knickers again. But according to Deadline, Jodie Foster has been cast as the new lead. And I’ve never had a woman before so…

True Detective will be Jodie’s first major television role as an adult. If Jodi’s trying to nose her way into Nicole Kidman’s HBO bag, she better start doing some strength-building exercises for her neck because I’m not sure she’s considered the wig work that will be expected of her. She might not have the range. Of motion that is. Deadline reports:

Jodie Foster is heading into Night Country.

The Silence of the Lambs star is to lead the fourth iteration of HBO’s True Detective franchise, True Detective: Night Country.

Foster, who will also exec produce the series, will play Detective Liz Danvers in the series, which comes from writer and director Issa López and executive producer Barry Jenkins.

Alan Page Arriaga, exec producer of Starz’s Shining Girls, has also joined Lopez to write.

The first season of True Dick was such a phenomenon, I think, thanks almost entirety to Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson’s chemistry. And while we don’t yet know who Jodi’s co-stars might be, Deadline reports that her partner will be another lady cop and the action will take place in Alaska, thus the Night Country subtitle.

The series is centered around Detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro who are looking to solve the case of six men that operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanishing without a trace, when the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska. The pair will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.

**possible spoiler alert** It’s Vince Vaughn’s career. Just kidding, it’s my dignity. I’m definitely going to try True Dick with two ladies. But the minute I get even a whiff of Mel Gibson, I’m changing my phone number.
