Todd Chrisley’s Former Business Partner Says They Had An Affair And Paid Off A Blackmailer To Keep It Secret

Todd Chrisley’s former business partner has revealed that they had an affair in the early 2000s and paid a blackmailer $38,000 to keep it quiet. To answer your question, YES, the business partner is male. His name is Mark Braddock, and he didn’t just spill the beans to a trash magazine; he testified about the alleged tryst at the Chrisley’s federal fraud trial. In front of Todd, wife Julie Chrisley, and their kids. OK, so where is the video? Or is the Depp/Heard trial unjustly bogarting all the courtroom cameras?!

Back in 2019 Todd, the 53-year-old “real estate tycoon” star of the reality show Chrisley Knows Best, and his 49-year-old wife Julie were indicted on 12 counts of bank and wire fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy. They were cleared of their state tax evasion charges a couple months later, but the federal case continued. Their trial began about two weeks ago in Atlanta. Federal prosecutors say the Chrisleys ran a conspiracy to defraud banks by making it seem like they were wealthier than they were so that they could live an extravagant lifestyle beyond their means. When the banks caught on, prosecutors say Todd and Julie filed for bankruptcy, walked away from their $20 million debt, and proceeded to hide more money from the IRS.

When the Chrisleys were originally charged back in 2019, Todd took to Instagram to proclaim his innocence. He blamed one of his family’s former “trusted employees” for doing “all kinds of really bad stuff like creating phony documents, forging our signatures, and threatening other employees with violence if they said anything.” Todd says when the family found out, they fired the employee. The Chrisleys’ line is that the employee got revenge by going to the U.S. Attorney’s office and pinning all his crimes on them. Guess who the former employee was? Mark Braddock.

Todd’s alleged former lover Mark has an entirely different version of events. Yes, he turned Todd and Julie into the FBI in 2012. And he owns up to creating phony financial documents and submitting them to banks for financial gain. But he insists it was all done on behalf of Todd and Julie. They were in on the scam. Lucky for Mark, he’s been given immunity from prosecution for his testimony against the Chrisleys.

In his opening statement, Todd and Julie’s attorney alleged that Mark’s totally obsessed with Todd, wants to be him, and actually believes he is Todd Chrisley. But when it was Mark’s turn to testify, he denied it. And he also dropped the gay affair bomb. Mark says he and Todd were together for about a year in the early 2000s (Todd’s been married to Julie since 1996), and after it ended they formed a tight “brotherhood” and were best buds.

But Mark testifies that he still had feelings for Todd after their affair ended, and that’s why he committed bank fraud from him and Julie. He says they had a falling out in 2012, and have not spoken since Todd locked him out of the office and threatened to have him arrested. After their fight, Mark admits that he became vengeful. He made fake email addresses under fake names and sent incriminating information about the Chrisleys to the government and news outlets.

And then there’s the blackmailing part of the story. Mark claims that he and Todd paid an anonymous blackmailer $38,000 in cash after receiving text messages threatening to expose their affair and financial fraud. The texts said, “pay cash and we’ll shut up.” Mark testified that he made four $9,500 withdrawals from the Chrisley Asset Management business account, met Todd in a parking garage (yaaas Deep Throat), and gave him the cash “in a little bag” to pay the blackmailer.

Insider reports that when Mark revealed the alleged affair in court “neither Chrisley’s family, nor the jury, had a palpable reaction to the testimony.” Probably because… um, duh? Rumors about Todd’s sexuality have been swirlin’ and twirlin’ for years. But he always denied them. In 2017 he said, via People:

“I’m flattered that people think I can get laid on both ends. So, that doesn’t bother me,” said Chrisley, who added, “And my wife certainly is flattered that as many men want her husband as there are women. With that being said, I’m never going to have a drought. You on the other hand might. But Todd will never have a drought.”

So Todd must be extra flattered today, cuz I believe every single word that comes out of Mark’s gay snitch lips.
