Kevin Spacey Has Been Charged With Four Counts Of Sexual Assault In The UK
Just yesterday we learned that Josh Duggar had been sentenced to nearly 13 years in prison for possessing child abuse materials. And it looks like the universe wasn’t done manifesting underage creeper justice, because Kevin Spacey is now facing four counts of sexual assault in London, England. There goes that big direct-to-a-Walmart-discount-$2 DVD-bin comeback he had planned!
It’s been nearly five years since Kevin came out as gay in response to Anthony Rapp’s allegations that Kevin molested an underage Anthony at a party. That was followed by many more assault allegations. Kevin Spacey has, so far, done a pretty good job of avoiding any kind of real accountability when it comes to the numerous allegations of misconduct against him. Sure, he had to pay $31 million to Netflix for violating their sexual harassment policy, but his wrists have been relatively handcuff-free. One of the lawsuits against Kevin Spacey was dropped because the plaintiff died. Another one of Kevin’s accusers died by suicide. A judge dismissed one plaintiff from a joint lawsuit with Anthony Rapp because the plaintiff refused to go public with their name. Fate and bad timing have taken a little vacation, because actual legal shit is going down with Kevin once again, after a thorough investigation by London’s Metropolitan Police. via CNN:
US actor Kevin Spacey has been charged with four counts of sexual assault against three men, Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said on Thursday.
Spacey was also charged with one count of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent, the CPS said.
The charges relate to two alleged incidents in London in 2005, another two in 2008, and a further incident in Gloucestershire, western England, in 2013.
The alleged victim of the 2005 incidents is now in his 40s, while the two men allegedly involved in the 2008 and 2013 incidents are now in their 30s.
If the victim of the 2005 incidents is now in his 40s, then he was 23 at the youngest during the alleged events. The victims of the 2008 and 2013 incidents are currently in their 30s, which means they could (at the youngest) have been 16 and 21, respectively. However, CNN doesn’t say whether any of the victims were underage at the time.
Kevin isn’t currently in England or Wales, and therefore charges cannot be officially applied until he returns to either of those places. CNN says that the Met isn’t currently planning on proceeding with extradition. And if they don’t, that means Kevin might be able to avoid those four sexual assault charges altogether, if he never steps foot back in England or Wales. Kevin is an American citizen, but boy does that man love London. He’s also no stranger to London’s theater world. Not at all fun fact: from 2004 to 2015, Kevin was the artistic director of London’s Old Vic theater, which is also where he received 20 allegations of inappropriate behavior.
So where is Kevin Spacey? According to a Vanity Fair article from last month, they speculated that Kevin could be living in seclusion in London, Los Angeles, or possibly even Florida. Based on the police information given, he’s clearly not in London. That leaves LA or Florida. Honestly, I hope it’s Florida. Stuck somewhere sticky and humid, where everything smells like rotting horseshoe crab shells, and the closest grocery store is a Publix that just can’t seem to get the temperature right in their milk and meat coolers. Forgive me, but food poisoning is the closest my mind can get to picturing temporary justice here.
