Jennifer Aniston Made A Brad Pitt Joke On Ellen DeGeneres’ Final Show

The Ellen DeGeneres Show is over. Not with a bang, but a whimper (from Ellen DeGeneres’ traumatized PAs). The series finale aired today, and, as previously announced, the final guest was Jennifer Aniston. Jenn has been on the show 20 times and was Ellen’s first guest ever, so it was a real full circle moment. The two reflected on that initial 2003 interview, and Ellen asked how Jenn dealt with Friends ending in 2004. Jenn joked, “I got a divorce and went into therapy.” Portia De Rossi, I hope you have an escape plan that involves a suitcase full of diamonds and a tell-all manuscript entitled, “No Eye Contact, Please: Sleeping With The Queen of Mean”.

After she made the Brad Pitt divorce joke, 53-year-old Jennifer added:

Oh, and then I did a movie called The Break Up. I just kind of leaned into the end. You know what, guys, let’s just make this a completely new chapter… let’s end everything and start new!

Jenn joked that Ellen and Portia are fine, and asks if the 64-year-old host has any plans now that her show is over. Ellen answers she wants to lay low for a while and rest, “and then I’ll do something again. But I don’t what it is yet. Any ideas?”  Jennifer says she would love if she got back into stand-up or acting, but Ellen doesn’t seem particularly excited about either of these prospects. Maybe she should finally pursue her true passion: killing dalmatians to make fur coats. Here’s a clip of the interview:

People reports that later on in the interview Jennifer said:

“I love you and I so appreciate you and what you have given to the world over the last 19 years — the contribution is, it’s endless. And not only have you shaped my life and given me so much, you’ve been such a dear friend to me, you’ve changed so many people’s lives who have been to this show, who have watched this show over the last 19 years.”

Stars! They’re just like us (some of their friends are assholes, too)!
