James Corden Says He Only Washes His Hair Every Two Months
Last week James Corden was bantering at the beginning of The Late Late Show, with, like, five or six people on his staff. I know one of them is band leader Reggie Watts, but who are the others? Producers? Writers? Random passersby? Sorry, I’ve never watched the show because, well, it’s James Corden.
Anywho, 43-year-old James brought up how Los Angeles residents have been advised to cut down their showering time by 4 minutes to help preserve the local water supply. He expressed shock that the average person showers for 10 minutes, and admitted that his are only “a solid three or four.” Then James revealed that he only washes his hair every two months. Excuse me? That’s a mere six times a year! Bitch could live off one shampoo bottle for the next century!
It was James’ co-banterers who outed his bimonthly shampoo routine. He asked one staffer, Winnie Ng, how long she showered. She answered that her showers last 15 minutes when she washes her hair, and 10 minutes when she doesn’t. James response was: “STOP! What are you doing for ten minutes?!” Winnie immediately clapped back with, “What do you mean? Your 3-minute shower is insane! That means you’re not showering! Come on!” Another staffer said, “But you [James] pride yourself on not using soap, or shampoo.” James defended himself: “No! I use SOAP! I don’t wash my hair. I wash it about every two months. That’s a true story.” Oh, I’m sure it is. Because who would lie about that on national television? Winnie shook her head and said, “Naw, that’s not cool. You guys are dirty.” Reggie Watts joked, “No, we NAAASTY,” and James responded, “No, I don’t think we are nasty.”
Here’s the video:
Do I personally think only shampooing six times a year is gross? Yes. But I’m fully aware how controversial this subject is. I’m one of those people who must wash my hair every single day, or it’s Grease City USA. But every time I publicly share my shower stats, somebody inevitably says, “Well, it gets greasy *because* you wash it every day.” Then they suggest I stop shampooing so frequently, and “my hair will eventually get used to it.” But how long will that take, random hair-washing expert? A week? A month? A year? And what am I supposed to do until then? Walk around with a greasy, stringy, wet-looking hair? Ew. Gross. No. I’ll never be like you, James Corden! NEVAH!
