Margot Robbie Will Produce And Star In An “Ocean’s 11” Prequel Set In The 1960s

If you thought that eight, eleven, twelve and thirteen Ocean’s were too many Oceans, how does the idea of -2 Ocean’s strike you? According to The Hollywood Reporter, the next Ocean’s 11 movie in the works will be a back-to-the beginning prequel set in the 1960s starring and produced by Margot Robbie. Jay Roach, Margot’s Bombshell director, will be in charge of keeping track of however many random ass Oceans they populate this one with as director. If you think herding cats is hard, you should try herding Oceans!

While not yet greenlit, Ocean’s However Many is in “active development” and the goal is to start production in the Spring of 2023. That’s good news because it’s supposed to take place in Europe and the Fast and Furious crew are filming there now. Nothing would be more confusing than an unintentional crossover event. I’d hate to see Tyrese pick up the wrong call sheet and wind up giving Margot a ride into outer space when she’s supposed to be fleecing a European Princelet played by Timothée Chalamet at the baccarat tables in Monaco. THR reports:

Warner Bros. is betting on more Ocean’s Eleven movies, this time sliding studio favorite Margot Robbie into the deck.

Robbie will star and produce a new Ocean’s movie that will be helmed by Jay Roach, who directed the actress to a best supporting actress Oscar nomination with 2019’s drama, Bombshell.

Robbie is producing with Tom Ackerley, her partner at production banner LuckyChap. Roach is also producing, along with his executive at shingle Delirious Media, Michelle Graham.

Details on the script by Carrie Solomon are being kept in the vault but it is known to be an original Ocean’s Eleven that is set in Europe in the 1960s.

Roach is known for directing the spiffy joke fest that are the Austin Powers movies as well as the Meet the Parents series of comedies. He recently shot all eight episodes of the first season of Apple TV’s upcoming comedy High Desert, which stars Patricia Arquette and Matt Dillon.

The first Ocean’s 11 movie came out in 1960 and starred the Rat Pack. The middle Ocean’s came out in 2001, 2004, and 2007 and starred the Matt Pack, as we must designate any cast working with Matt Damon, as per his rider. And the most recent Ocean’s movie, Ocean’s 8 came out in 2018 and starred the Rack Pack (because it was all ladies, ladies with boobs). So maybe this one will star a collection of hotties of any gender who will be cemented as the hot new things called the Snack Pack.
