In Her New Netflix Documentary “Halftime,” Jennifer Lopez Gets Emotional After Finding Out She Didn’t Get An Oscar Nomination For “Hustlers”

Pop Quiz: Do you remember back in 2020 when Jennifer Lopez and Shakira shook their un-lying hips for a quick Super Bowl check? Of course you don’t because some other shit happened that year which made us forget about anything she’s ever done. Including the movie Hustlers, where she portrayed a money hungry broad shaking her ass for stacks of cash. Oh wait, maybe that’s why she’s reminding us again in her upcoming documentary Halftime about the subsequent Oscar snub which followed, because she’s been shaking her ass for stacks of cash since she sprinted off of the 6 train into superstardom.

Entertainment Weekly reports that JLo has a new documentary on the horizon focused on her preparation for the Super Bowl LIV halftime show. It premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 8 before hitting Netflix on June 14.

Structured around the creation of the superstar’s co-headlining 2020 Super Bowl performance with Shakira, the preview for the movie…chronicles not only the physical construction of the set, but also the personal framework of the woman behind the scenes.

Of course this couldn’t just be about the Super Bowl. She also had to speak on the countless shower wall slides she performed after not receiving an Oscar nomination forĀ Hustlers.

“It was hard. I just had a very low self-esteem,” Lopez admits while her voice plays over an image of her crying in bed. “I had to really figure out who I was and believe in that, and not believe in anything else.”

Here’s the trailer, and honestly I think she missed an opportunity to call this filmĀ I Told Y’all I’M REAL! because her attempt at appearing like an actual human being is by far the greatest performance of her entire career.

I can guarantee you JLo sat on this film for years hovering over the CDC’s website to see when she could release it in theaters. I guess she got tired of waiting and told them “Fuck it, skip the theaters and put it on Netflix” because her attention meter was almost at zero. And it was smart to give her fiance Ben Affleck a cameo, even if his one question to her was “Doesn’t this bother you?” Sounds more like something she would have said to Ben after catching his asshole exploding once again from drinking his 20th Dunkin’ coffee of the day.

But congratulations to JLo on her new documentary. She may have lost out on an Oscar for Hustlers but the Best Display Of Raw Emotion In A Documentary Oscar is hers and hers alone!
