Teddi Mellencamp Defended Her Decision To Get A Neck Lift

Teddi Mellencamp is in the news after she– wait, you don’t know who Teddi Mellencamp is? OK, nerd, but maybe put down the book sometime. Teddi is John Cougar Mellencamp’s daughter, an ex-cast member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the first person voted out on the most recent season of Celebrity Big Brother, and a controversial “accountability coach” who runs an expensive weight loss/diet program that encourages disordered eating. Now that you know what makes 40-year-old Teddi semi-relevant, here’s why we’re talking about her: People reports that she got a neck lift. Holy. Shit. Easily the biggest news story of the week.

Teddi decided she was gonna be honest about her neck lift. Over the last week, she’s posted videos explaining her reasoning (she hated her side profile and the loose skin on her neck), fielded questions from “fans,” and shared updates from before and after the surgery. She’s also conveniently compiled all her neck lift-related Instagram Stories into this handy highlight reel. Here’s a side-by-side:

But not everybody is supportive of Teddi’s choice to get a neck lift. One person messaged her to say that Teddi getting plastic surgery to remove fat is hypocritical because she’s a “public figure trying to help women loose [sic] weight.” The critic adds that Teddi doing this reminds “those of us who need one who can’t afford one how ugly we are Thanku.” Thanku, ugly poor person.

Here’s Teddi’s response, which is basically, “you can’t get mad at me cuz I’m being open and honest”:

The “I changed my life 7 years ago” is a reference to Teddi losing 80 pounds on the diet program she shills. As for her question, “Do you appreciate me being open about my journey or would you rather I just pretend I did nothing?”, my answer is: I don’t think anyone would’ve noticed if she hadn’t said anything. Unless you’re a Teddi MellenStan who regularly Googles, “Teddi side profile double chin.” And, let’s be real, there are zero Teddi MellenStans in this timeline.
