Sarah Silverman Doesn’t Think Sharing A Toothbrush With Her Boyfriend Is Gross
This morning, Sarah Silverman was a guest on The View and dropped a very interesting tidbit about her relationship with comedian Rory Albanese. The couple, who have been dating since late 2020, SHARE A TOOTHBRUSH!!! That’s right! Sarah uses the same toothbrush as Rory, Rory uses the same toothbrush as Sarah. One toothbrush, two people. The women of The View were disgusted, but Sarah’s logic was, “Why is that so gross, we kiss each other where we pee!” OK sure, but, usually, old food bits don’t get stuck in your pee-parts. Usually.
First, Sarah and the ladies discussed the Will Smith/Chris Rock slap and the Dave Chappelle incident (blah blah blah, she’s not scared to continue doing stand-up), and then Sunny Hostin changed the subject to inquire about Sarah and Rory’s unique habit. She asked:
I have a question for you, because I was… befuddled by this. And before the pandemic, you were living alone. And you had said you weren’t sure you would never share your bed again. And since then you started dating, and not only are you sharing your bed… you’re sharing your toothbrush.
Before Sarah could answer, Joy Behar shared her two cents: “EW. Really? That’s disgusting.” The revelation also shocked the audience, who made some grossed-out sounds and laughed at Joy’s repulsion. Sunny repeated, “I was befuddled by that,” and Sarah defended herself:
I have never shared another toothbrush with another person in my life, and for some reason with Rory, we have never not used the same toothbrush. Now, everyone’s saying that’s so gross. Lemme ask you something-
That’s when producers ruined Sarah’s punchline and put up a picture of Sarah, Rory, and their dog. Joy asked, “Is that who you’re sharing with? The dog?” Sarah clarified, no, she’s sharing her toothbrush with the man, and finally got to her point: “Why is that so gross, we kiss each other where we pee!” Except “pee” was bleeped out, because it’s 11:00 AM and kids could be watching! We can’t let them know about pee-kisses!
Sarah’s joke shocked everyone even more than the same-toothbrush-reveal. Co-hosts Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sarah Haines burst out laughing, Whoopi Goldberg just shrugged n’ mugged to the audience. Joy retorted, “Not everyone does that either!”, and then, “Yeah, but you’re going in there, in the gums and everything… it’s disgusting.” Whoopi eventually said that Sarah can do whatever she wants in her house, and before they cut to commercial break, Sarah cried, “My body! My choice!” Wait, is that what we’ve been protesting all this time?! Sharing toothbrushes? Here’s the video:
